I'm still hanging in there. it's bored me a little bit at times, but then something bat**** crazy happens in the last minute and suddenly I'm back watching it the next week. it's started to lose me a little here and there, but I'm not quite ready to give it up just yet.

Penny Dreadful has just enough good acting and storylines (albeit at a slow pace) to keep me interested. The action "scene" on the ship from Sunday's episode was pretty cool, but it was so dark it was a little hard to follow. Based on upcoming previews, it seems like they're going to pack a LOT into the final 2 episodes..

Penny Dreadful season finale thoughts????

it didn't really feel like a season finale to me, but it finally confirmed everyone's theory that Ethan is a werewolf (duh) and probably Jack the Ripper too, and that Brona will be the Bride (kinda hoping the reanimated version won't have that accent)

Malcolm killing Mina actually shocked me.....and Dorian Gray needs to go away. he hasn't done anything besides have weird hair and **** everyone and it's pissing me off that he's just a plot device instead of an actual character at this point. booooooooooooooooo!!

I thought the Penny Dreadful finale was a decent one. Wrapped up enough story lines to satisfy, but maybe twisted too many of them all at once. Most of the show has become background fodder to me, though, except the Frankenstein story, which is among my favorite things on TV, probably.

ucsdguy1

I liked the season finale.

Dorian's story seemed like it could be wrapped up - he got a tear and that's that. But I can see him coming back into the fold as well.

Mina getting shot was pretty crazy.

Methinks Ethan is going to be none too happy when he finds out Brona is the bride of frankenstein..

Masters of Sex: Season One Blu-ray Review (http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Masters-of-Sex-Season-One-Blu-ray/93145/#Review)

Masters of Sex plunges deeper and deeper, never skimming the surface or resigning itself to shallow waters. The result is a mature, satisfying series that explores sexuality and the years preceding the sexual revolution with a thoughtfulness and timeliness befitting its cast and behind-the-camera pedigree. Paramount's Blu-ray release is quite notable as well, thanks to a terrific video presentation, solid DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track, and small but informative selection of special features. All in all, Season One is an easy purchase to recommend.

New Episodes of Twin Peaks to Air on Showtime in 2016 (http://collider.com/twin-peaks-showtime/)

Twin Peaks creators David Lynch and Mark Frost both tweeted “Dear Twitter Friends: That gum you like is going to come back in style. #damngoodcoffee” last week and now we know why. A new Twin Peaks video just popped up on YouTube, and on the official Showtime channel nonetheless. It’s been 23 years since the final episode of the show’s second season aired on ABC, but in 2016, Showtime will bring it back.

According to the brief promo, the new iteration will pick up 25 years after the original run wrapped up. Lynch and Frost are busy writing the scripts and Lynch is also set to direct all nine episodes as well. Hit the jump for more on Showtime’s Twin Peaks.

twin-peaks-entire-mystery-blu-ray-4Showtime just made the official announcement; Twin Peaks will go into production in 2015 and will debut in 2016 to coincide with the 25th anniversary of when the show last aired. This will not be a remake or reboot. It’ll take place in present day and run with plot points that were developed in the first two seasons while “providing long-awaited answers for the series’ passionate fan base.”

as a die hard fan of the original I couldn't be happier. And Showtime to boot, so they can go farther. Just outstanding news really.

Ya know...

I actually watched 2 episodes last night. REALLLLLLLLY enjoyed. But, just like the last time I got started watching this season, there was another Carrie STOP sign. The first time it was almost killing her kid. That scene and the way it played...turned me off the show a bit. So I took a break. Started watching again and STOP...Carrie beds young PI(I keep waiting for him to say Richard Parker). OK, that made zero sense. AND if I were a woman I would be terribly offended that that is the one card that Carrie, cukoo yes, but still very good at her job, chose to play. It's funny that Quinn is being evaluated for honest and understandable mental reactions and Carrie is a field operator. It's a big suspension of disbelief. It's a terribly well plotted and suspenseful show, but at the center of it is a woman who is clearly cheshire cat MAD and she is given more power. The only way I can get past it is to say to myself...well, it is a GOVERNMENT agency.

I really enjoy the show for the most part, and I love that Carrie is most definitely NOT a hero, but her character has made some ridiculous decisions so far this season. Almost killing her baby was ****ing terrifying and I HATE that she felt she had to sleep with Aayan to recruit him. Because she was on a time crunch? Come on. It's really insulting that sex was apparently all she had to offer. Ugh. I love that Quinn tore into her about it, as well. We need more Quinn. He's the ****ing voice of reason, apparently.

This season started out soooooooo well, but I feel like it's starting to come off the rails a little bit. I guess we'll see!

So yesterday was tv catch up/dvr cleaning day...

Homeland. Wow. Welcome back. So tense. I have issues with Claire Danes becoming Mallory Archer and seducing her way through everything, but there is no denying how well written the rest of the show is. Quinn is the moral center now so that provides an anchor for all the really dirty **** going on around him. Odd that Farah disappeared for a few shows after featuring pretty prominently, but Saul's capture, recapture, rescue and...whatever, were horribly nerve wracking. Brave move having Brody make a cameo...but that and Carrie's 'trip' were also deftly handled. The main Pakistani female shot caller is a little twirling mustache-y, but I can forgive that. Just as I hoped, the hard reboot has really benifitted this show. Can't wait for Sunday night.

Coogan stars as Thom Payne, a 44 year-old man whose world is thrown into disarray when his 25 year-old wunderkind boss arrives, saying things like “digital,” “social” and “viral.” Is he in need of a “rebranding,” or does he just have a “low joy ceiling?” Maybe pursuing happiness is a fool’s errand? Maybe, after 44 years on this ludicrous planet, settling for happyish is the best one can expect. HAPPYISH was created, written and executive produced by critically acclaimed author and regular This American Life contributor Shalom Auslander. HOMELAND Season 5 Will Include a Time Jump, Career Changes, and More
http://collider.com/homeland-season-5-time-jump/

Some interesting info from this year’s PaleyFest: at a Q&A panel Friday night, Homeland showrunner Alex Gansa spoke about some big changes for the show’s upcoming fifth season.

Variety reports that according to Gansa, the next season will jump ahead 2.5 years, and will be located in Europe (probably shooting in Germany). Gansa went on to say that Carrie will no longer work for the CIA.

homeland-season-5-mandy-patinkin-claire-danesLater, Gansa apparently stressed the connection Germany and Europe play in Western security issues regarding terrorism, so even though Carrie is no longer in intelligence, it seems like she’ll be drawn into that web again somehow.

I thought last season was terrific, so I have faith in them to make this work.

Source: Twin Peaks reboot moving forward despite David Lynch's comments
http://www.ew.com/article/2015/03/16/-twin-peaks-lynch-comments

Showtime’s Twin Peaks is still apparently on track.

Creator David Lynch reportedly made some dire comments about his Twin Peaks reboot’s odds of happening at a panel in Australia for his new art exhibit last weekend. The writer-director reportedly said Showtime’s resurrection of his classic ABC series was “still up in the air” and “there are complications” and that he doesn’t know if the revival is still on.

That was certainly news to Showtime, which has already received all of Lynch’s scripts, greenlit Twin Peaks as a limited series and signed Kyle MacLachlan to reprise his starring role as Agent Cooper. “Nothing is going on that’s any more than any preproduction process with David Lynch,” a source said close to the show said. “Everything is moving forward and everybody is crazy thrilled and excited.”

Still, Lynch’s participation is still considered pretty crucial. Lynch is signed to direct all nine episodes and it’s hard to imagine Twin Peaks returning without his blessing. We reached out to Lynch’s representative for more clarity, but the rep had nothing to say about the director’s comments. Perhaps Lynch simply hadn’t had his morning coffee yet?

Crafty crafty man...that's just publicity!

“We were saddened to read David Lynch’s statement today since we believed we were working towards solutions with David and his reps on the few remaining deal points. It's funny, judging by their responses Showtime seems to not know that the negotiations weren't going well. The interwebz have been pretty adamant that no Frost/Lynch ='s no show. Pretty sure that Showtime realizes that and will do what they can to appease. I can only hope that, at best, this is Lynch being Lynch, and drumming up awareness. At worst, maybe they have cold feet and really do not want to do it. Not like Lynch has been a workaholic in the interim.

Penny Dreadful, Nurse Jackie, Episodes, Shameless, Dexter, The Borgais, The Big C, The Tudors, Weeds and Ray Donovan. You can have your Game of Thrones and those other HBO things.

Also, Starz, Outlander and Black sails are really good.

David Lynch Says TWIN PEAKS Season 3 is “Happening Again”
http://collider.com/twin-peaks-season-3-happening-again/

Get ready for some damn good coffee. The Twin Peaks season 3 miniseries is a go! After some public disagreements with Showtime, it seems series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost have resolved their issues with the network and are moving forward with the planned 9-episode series. Check out Lynch’s celebratory tweet below and break out the cherry pie.

Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem ….. It is !!! Happening again. #TwinPeaks returns on @SHO_Network

David Lynch to Direct 18 New Episodes of Twin Peaks
http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/103480/david-lynch-to-direct-18-new-episodes-of-twin-peaks/

After all of the behind-the-scenes drama involving the upcoming season of “Twin Peaks,” fans could certainly use some good news. Here you go: Not only has David Lynch worked out his problems with the folks at Showtime, the acclaimed filmmaker will reportedly direct a whopping 18 episodes of the next installment of the cult favorite. That’s definitely a cause for celebration.

If that’s not enough to get you insanely excited for the new episodes, then you should seriously consider this: According to Welcome to Twin Peaks, frequent Lynch collaborator Angelo Badalamenti will compose new music for Showtime’s “Twin Peaks” reboot.

Somewhere, the dwarf in the red suit is dancing a hypnotic jig.

Finally, to ensure that the new episodes feature the same unnerving atmosphere as the original run, Lynch and company will shoot the forthcoming season in North Bend and Snoqualmie, Washington. This includes transforming Twede’s Cafe into the Double R Diner once again.

The new episodes of “Twin Peaks,” which begin shooting this September, should arrive on Showtime next year. And as Agent Dale Cooper once said, “I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.”

Last night's PD was probably a first for any TV episode with all the... spoiler free... horizontal... action.

And sure Brona is a good take on a twist of the book character family, but the entire show revolves around Vanessa and what's going on with her. Her flashback Ep last year was great but this year's flashback Ep will be winning an award... if voters don't ignore it.

Showtime’s Streaming Service Will Launch on Hulu in July
http://collider.com/showtime-streaming-service-will-launch-on-hulu-in-july/

Another victory for the cord-cutters. Showtime’s standalone streaming service has been a long time in coming, and today the premium network announced that it will be partnering with Hulu to distribute that service, presumably to tap into Hulu’s already steady consumer share (which currently numbers close to nine million subscribers).

So, (according to Vulture’s Joe Adalian, as this wasn’t in the press release) Hulu subscribers will be able to add Showtime for $8.99, $2 less than via Apple. That means the total cost for a Hulu + Showtime subscription would be $16.98. And, apparently, the Showtime content streamed via Hulu will not feature any ads (one of the major complaints about Hulu by subscribers).

That sucked too. I liked how he brought the best out of him/her, and as soon as she admitted to be able to accept Dorian, boom time to die.

Seems like Brona and Dorian are going to go at it, with John Clare probably somewhere in the middle.

I also liked the fact that Malcolm was able to break out of the enchantment on his own, building on his character.

Melissa Leo, Sebastian Stan and Clark Duke Join I’m Dying Up Here
http://www.comingsoon.net/tv/news/623389-melissa-leo-sebastian-stan-and-clark-duke-join-im-dying-up-here

Academy Award winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter, Frozen River, “Louie”), Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Martian) and Clark Duke (Hot Tub Time Machine, “The Office”) have joined the ensemble cast of the new one-hour Showtime dark comedy pilot I’m Dying Up Here. They join previously-announced cast members Ari Graynor, Andrew Santino, RJ Cyler, Erik Griffin and Stephen Guarino. If the pilot is picked-up to series, Leo and Duke would appear as series regulars, Stan would guest star.

Leo will play the role of “Goldie,” a brassy comedy club owner who rules over her business with an iron fist and nurtures her comedians with tough love. Stan will play “Clay,” a funny, charming comedian on the rise, who declares irrelevancy as his biggest fear. He is idolized by his ex and fellow comedian Cassie (Graynor). Duke will play “Larry,” a ballsy young comedian from Boston who moves to L.A. with the hopes of making it big.

Produced by Showtime, I’m Dying Up Here is written and executive produced by Dave Flebotte (“Masters of Sex,” “Will & Grace,” “Desperate Housewives”), and executive produced by Golden Globe winner Jim Carrey and Michael Aguilar (The Departed, Semi-Pro), and Christina Wayne (Copper) for Endemol Shine Studios and Assembly Entertainment. The pilot will be directed by Jonathan Levine (50/50, Warm Bodies).

Set in L.A.’s celebrated, infamous stand-up comedy scene of the 1970s, during which the careers of most of our comedy superstars began, the pilot will delve into the inspired and damaged psyches that inhabit the hilarious, but complex business of making an audience laugh. I’m Dying Up Here will shoot in LA this fall. The pilot is based on the non-fiction book of the same name by William Knoedelseder.

In true Thanksgiving fashion, decided to binge on season 2 of Penny Dreadful. About 7 and 1/2 episodes in...thoughts...

Dorian Gray is such a non essential character. Written/portrayed as such a vacuous non-entity. I am aware that 'things' may happen to remedy that, so...
The guest shot by Patti Lupone as the 'Cut-Wife' was truly emmy worthy. For her to make Eva Green background noise, that's a helluva performance.
Sir Malcolm is interesting. Nice to see Dalton having so much fun.
I do not know if Sembene has an origin episode this season, but he deserves one. Essential 'glue' character that has so much more to offer.
Lily and the Doc...well, duh.
Funny, the creature is so timid and sweet...yet when he is in the presence of the Doc...a tempest. Need to see more of that side in relation to other instances.
The show is ****ING BEAUTIFUL.
And the music is second only to the Leftovers as far as being an essential part of the show.

EDIT: Oh yeah, where are the action figures for the bald, very nude, and scarred by Satan's claws Night Comers? There just aren't enough female action figures these days.
P.S. There is a LOT of nudity/sex on this show...including the single most graphic man on man scene I have ever witnessed. Hats off to Showtime for going for it, in every sense of the word.

I think I have 4 and a 1/2 left...so when I complete it I will check back in. And then, in time for the premiere, I have to finish up those last two episodes of Black Sails.(yeah yeah, I know, remember, it took me 40 some odd years to watch the Exorcist, so I am still in my window).

ughhhhhh they better not. Quinn's storyline has been crazy this season, but he can't die that way. On another note, I am soooooooo happy with Saul/Carrie reuniting again to try and take down Eowyn. I'm really digging this season so far.

don't think he'll be dead, but, even with the antidote(?), he will have to have some kinda damage from the sarin. He hasn't been particularly Quinn like this season.Fooled by Allison, shot by Carrie, shot by nameless henchman #3 (http://letsgokings.com/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=3) , and then outwitted by a second tier wannabe terrorist. He's the damsel in distress and Carrie ain't done **** for him. And that Allison...craft-yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

‘Homeland’ Season 6 Will Take Place in New York City
http://collider.com/homeland-season-6-new-york-city/

SPOILERS

Still, one of the biggest questions from Season 5 is the fate of Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend). He was dragged halfway across the world, half-alive, potentially wishing he was dead (who can forget the vomiting up of black blood?), only to end with Carrie (Clare Danes) maybe thinking about smothering him for his own good. So … is he coming out of the coma?

Nevins says there’s no definitive answer, though he does not plan to toy with viewer expectations. “Homeland is a show that killed a lead,” he said. “It attempts to live in the real world. It’s less about playing games. There won’t be a supernatural solution.” And, if Quinn does live, he wouldn’t likely go back to being a badass assassin. “It will not be in any way shape or form the way he has lived to date,” he said.

That article mentions preliminary discussions of ending the show...which it may be time to do. My biggest gripe is that it is starting to seem Harlequin Romance-y/Fan Fic with everyone trying to get with Carrie and her twitchy teared anvil face. She's a terrible parent, drama queen and horrible friend. She cried and cried over Quinn like a widow, only to find him and be full party to jeopardizing his health beyond repair. She also basically sacrificed that poor cab driver who was making something of his life by co-opting him into her madness in an earlier episode. She is so quick to burn anyone and anything even mildly close to her, to the point I could imagine her using her kid as a human shield. She's a horrible horrible person.

I watched the first two episodes and enjoyed this show. It has the shock and awe typical of Showtime/HBO shows but the story is somewhat compelling. The main protagonists are a good storyline but there are a couple of good side stories/back stories at work that help feed the drama. They are out to prove too much money is a bad thing and leads to excess in life, in general.

I finally got through the first season of Penny Dreadful. :hockey2:

It wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed the series. The creepy tone, look, and characters kept me interested. I know a lot of peeps are talking about how so many shows/films are being based on comic books these days, but a literary nerd like me likes how shows are drawing from several classic novels. I mean, having Victor Frankenstein quote Percy Shelley is all sorts of geeky awesomeness. It's a good thing he didn't cite Mary though or that would have been akin to crossing the streams. :P

From what I've heard, the second season is even better so I am looking forward to that. I am always one step behind, but I'll get there eventually. ;)

The second season hits the ground running and offers a LOT more substance than the first one does. So besides being very pretty, it actually packs in a good story. The highlight of the season is a bottle/origin episode for Miss Ives featuring a great guest spot by Patti LuPone. It more than justifies your patience with the first season.

Speaking of Penny Dreadful, I finished watching the second season! :D

It IS BETTER than the first season. A large part of it is that Miss Ives is basically the main character of the series, and since most of the characters have already been introduced in the first season, the second does a much better job in interweaving the other character's and their plotlines into and around Miss Ives's story. It also improves on the visuals which is saying something since the first season was already something to look at. Somebody told me that ep 3 resembles Mario Bava, and it does not just because of the Burn Witch plot, but because of the atmosphere and imagery.

http://loser-city.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Penny-Dreadful-Nightcomers-Witches.jpg

The blood rain scene at the dance was also inspiring.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/vy8HX1k82xo/hqdefault.jpg

And then there was that ep which showed parallel scenes of sexuality like it was the daily designated daily time set for that sort of thing. Ugh! It reminded of a similar series of sexual scenes in Trainspoiting, haha, it just needed the Blondie song. :P

I am really looking forward to the third season. And Dr. Jekyll! See, peeps, I am not completely hopeless since I caught up. Do I get a cookie? Haha. :hockey2:

Sure she was married, but then she disappeared and was turned into a vampire at some point and served "the Master," who I assumed was Dracula. So I'm wondering if Dracula's the one who turned her into a vampire (and maybe married her) to get to Vanessa.

‘Homeland’ Boss Teases Season 6 Plot, Reveals Peter Quinn’s Fate
http://collider.com/homeland-season-6-rupert-friend/

Now, Gansa is getting more specific. According to EW Rupert Friend will be returning as a series regular. Gansa hinted that there will be big changes for Quinn, especially emotionally. “How Peter Quinn’s character is gonna be dramatized this year is going to surprise people, and it may not be what you think.” As for a potential romance between Carrie and Quinn, “because they’re both very damaged people and I think that they have a similar attraction to high voltage, high adrenaline situations that tend to have an incredible benefit but more likely to have a very catastrophic end.”

Quinn very quickly became the best thing about this show. I am terribly happy that they are going to explore this avenue. You rarely see the after affects of 'heroism' on tv. I hope they do it justice.

Unexpected news to say the least, and slightly illogical reasoning reading several of the interviews I've seen this morning. Poor ratings. But the Showtime exec loved the show. The rushed final episodes setting up things that could've been Season 4. The introduction of a comic. They should've just pre-announced it was ending.

After some reflection, I take back what I said about it being a perfect finale. Not perfect. Not at all. And now I'm mad.

NO resolution on Dracula. Dude just peaced out. Ethan never found out what happened to Brona. Uncool. And then we got like 2 minutes of Vanessa, THE MAIN CHARACTER, in the series ****ing finale and it was just "kill me. I'm done fighting." That's sooooooo not Vanessa. The big finale should have been her fighting Dracula and killing him after all of the suffering he caused her.

Now I'm so mad. This show was soooooooooo perfect and the finale was so unsatisfying.

R.I.P.
Penny Dreadful
2104-2016

UPDATE:

?I created Penny Dreadful to tell the story of a woman grappling with her faith, and with the demons inside her. For me the character of Vanessa Ives is the heart of this series. From the beginning, I imagined her story would unfold over a three-season arc, ending with Vanessa finally ? and triumphantly ? finding peace as she returns to her faith. To have had fans that have embraced us so passionately has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my career. This has been a very personal project for me and I will be forever grateful to have worked with the incredible cast led by Eva, Josh and Tim, our amazing Irish crew, and with our wonderful partners at SHOWTIME and Sky.?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Sf2heIw8Dc

While I agree that the finale was...abbreviated, I am satisfied with how it ended. There are more stories to tell...and in my mind they will always be there. mmmcammy, while I feel your angst at Vanessa's decision, it was the only thing that made sense. She could not ever be a 'normal' person. And another season with her 'soul in peril' may have proved to have been too much. As far as how satisfying, I come down somewhere in the middle. Dracula was defeated...although not vanquished outright. The Creature, I suppose, found some measure of peace. Victor found his humanity. And like immortals, Brona and Dorian's stories are there waiting to be told. Maybe someday.

jerseydevil

You know...upon reflection there was a real sense of goodbye this season, starting with Mr Lyle, who I assume is having About and Costello like shenanigans in the mummy's tomb. Maybe the other plot threads were introduced to distract from the goodbye. Too bad really, I kinda dug the Van Helsing type gal they brought in.

Btw, Brona's confession about her daughter. Oofa. That was rough.

So was it on record earlier that Penny Dreadful was going to end or was it just revealed? I am confused. And I haven't started on the third season, haha, but have been pretty good at avoiding spoilers thanks to looking away and being too drunk to remember what I accidentally read the next day.

But anyhooow, what will fill the creepy Victorian era need in my life now?

I guess there was some speculation since there hadn't been any renewal news, but I think most people expected it to be renewed since Showtime execs always gushed about the show. I totally wasn't expecting the cancellation, so after it aired, Showtime was like "yep, that was it. sorry."
I kinda wish I had known beforehand that was the series finale so I could prepare myself.

I have read a lot that Logan started wrapping it up mid second season. I don't think the ratings were great, but I'm pretty sure, despite the costs, Showtime would have gone one more. There was a dedicated fan base and the critics, at one point, loved the show. Plus, Showtime is/has lost a few other shows too...

I do like that they are also saying that they gave no notice of the end because that's how life really works. So there is a bit of beauty in that.

True but god damn (no pun intended) it also felt like a gut punch. Did anyone else start to tear up when the words "the end" came on screen?

Since I finished Penny Dreadful, finally. I can now go back and read the spoiler posts!

Expect a summary from me about the series later. I loved the show and the Victorian Age was SO interesting, surprisingly so, despite what my beloved Virginia Woolf and her cohorts said, um, they were just hating on their parent's generation as young people tend to do.

But, no, the Victorians weren't all dark and prudes, lol.

I read your peeps posts, haha. So much fun! :D

**Spoilers**

This is how I would've ended the series, lol. I am a pretentious English Major. So there's that. :P

The whole series was based on the premise that characters from the same era, that is, Victorian literature, just happen to come across each other. Frankenstein? Dorian Gray? Dracula, lol. Didn't happen when these books were written. And then we have the Universal Werewolf
reference, Talbot, which is early American film, like 1940 American film, but still tapping into the Victorian Horror?

So I would've just done, that someone, say a young girl was thinking about this, like a really creative college student, tried to write fan fiction of the era, and placed herself as one Vanessa Ives, because it would be a character where the rest of these Victorian characters could revolve around.

And then have her died, well because that's what's expected. I am reminded of Gail Simone's Women in Freezer's concept. Women have to die to tell a man's story.

http://www.comicsbeat.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/201202010320.jpg

And then it just ends, that way, her existence brought all these character's together, but then what next?

*sorry* I have to work on something else, so it ends here, I mean finals, and exams.

And that's what Penny Dreadful is, the best example of Fan Fiction, but, ultimate, just that. Doesn't solve questions, just gives you what you lit nerds wanted to see, lol. Someone like Victor & Henry being friends, haha.

So just a lit nerd's story. That's what the story is about. What if these characters, from these books I am reading, would come across..

Oh, yeah, my favorite Penny Dreadful from the third season was "A Blade of Grass."

Eva Green is so awesome! That ep was like a two person play. So intense!! Love it!

Eva Green has sorta been typecasted 'cause she plays similar characters, but still, that woman was born to play tortured women from, say, the Elizabeth Barrett Browning era.

An eulogy to Penny Dreadful...

Girls blush, sometimes, because they are alive, half wishing they were dead to save the shame. The sudden blush devours them, neck and brow; They have drawn too near the fire of life, like gnats, and flare up bodily, wings and all. What then? Who's sorry for a gnat or girl?

--Elizabeth Barrett Browning
