My son asked for an old Atari computer for Xmas. I tried to talk him down saying that it won't play the games he wants, but he's insisting.

Sure enough, I found both of his Grandfather's Anchient Relics in the attic. An old Atari 400 in the original packaging, and an Atari 800 in almost mint condition, with a box of floppy's with the Floppy Drive, and a half a dozen cartridges.

Its gonna be an 8 Bit Xmas Mother****ers!

In my garage. If somewhat of a pack rat, although not what I would call a hoarder.

Its actually not that anchient, it was produced in like 2002. We used it in the bedroom before I went Flat Panel Ape**** a few years back.

Needed one of these to make it go:

I was going to buy my kids an old Atari, then I realized that I do not have any kids.

Just to follow up, now that I know it works, I grabbed him some more games:

Super Breakout
Congo Bongo
Football
Space Invaders
Galaxian
Joust
Defender
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
Asteroids
Missile Command
Eastern Front 1941
Original Atari Trackball Controller

Need to find Pole Position and some Paddles and I think I'm done!

There is a reason I'm not sweating dropping $5.00 a game on Ebay to accumulate all those before he wants to play him.

There's no way in hell he's gonna want to play Eastern Front 1941.

I have that same tv, works great. In fact, better than my LG flat screen that died right after the warranty stopped.

I remember there was a game on the Atari that was used in conjunction with a tape player. I am not sure what the player did but it must have been something like a secondary drive.
