The Abbey in Seal Beach
Used to come to this place a few years ago. It got a lot of press at one time, because Mark McGwire hung out there. It has now changed ownership, and I have to say for the better. The beer selection is much improved with a mix of Belgian and micro. Had the Loakal Red from The Bruery today, and really enjoyed it. Food is excellent with the Asian Nachos something you should not miss. the owner, John is really nice, and I asked him if he had anything against L.A. Kings fans. His reply was "are you kidding". He said if we let him know, he would be more than happy to host a game watch. Not a huge place, but if you are in Seal Beach, worth a stop. Beachwood Bbq, is just down the street and gets the huge crowds, and deservedly so, but The Abbey is well worth the stop.

No, the one in the (909) is called the Back Abbey. That's a totally different place, and has a much better Belgian Beer selection. The Back Abbey has a more limited menu, but incredible burgers, and is located within walking distance from my house in Claremont. The Abbey in Seal Beach has a more extensive menu, burgers, pizzas from a brick oven, and a mix of Belgian and micro brews. Not the same places, and very different while still great in their own way.

oh, i care more about the brews (than the food), but i might be interested in a watch party or just to try it out if i happen to venture north (i'm in HB).
