Açaí - how do you bowl?
My son's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Professor has got me hooked on Açaí bowls.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, before workout, after workout...it's the ambrosia of the modern age.
If you've never had an Açaí (pronounced AH-SIGH-EE), it is a delicious dark purple berry filled with healthy antioxidants, amino acids, and essential fatty acids, which comes in a frozen pureed pulp with the consistency of a soft serve yogurt (maybe a little thicker). The frozen "soft serve" can be blended into a smoothie with other ingredients, and/or commonly used as a base for a bowl with toppings.
Here's where the fun part comes in, the toppings.
I like a bowl with blended Açaí/apple juice/mango, topped with banana, kiwi, strawberry, flax and hemp seed granola. This is my pre-workout/training bowl.
There's a little shop over in RSM (deepest South OC) that makes great bowls - Bowl of Heaven
Anybody have some of their own recipes/topping combos?
Any shops in your are that make Açaí bowls?
