Joe's Sushi in Lakewood. Just east of South & Bellflower blvd. $22.50, you must not leave any rice on your plate or else you will have to pay for that item. I went there once just to get my "fix". Probably wont go there again because of the manager. She is very annoying. Food was good, not great. Worth a try if you're in the neighborhood and can avoid the crazy lady that runs the place.
The main sushi place that I go to is Sushi Boy in Torrance and the Marukai or Mitsuwa store. (I think it is Mitsuwa). Good stuff and cheap price. Now it is not the extreme top, but it is damn good. The AYCE places I am skeptical of. I know people say Todai is good....but I am still sketchy. Smells too fishy for me, and a good seafood restaurant does not smell of old fish
Todai is decent if you're jonesing so much for sushi that you need it that very moment or else you might consider (for whatever reason) prostitution.
However, Todai is not good.
who would resurrect a thread that's been dead for 2 years?
oh, Midori is decent for all you can eat. $25, tops.
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
To those who don't trust all you can eat sushi.
According to the California Dept. of Health... Sushi is actually one of the safest foods a person can eat in a restaurant setting. It has to do with the care involved in its handling and preparation.
I love sushi, and won't go to an all you can eat place because generally I find that it isn't quite the same quality. More rice/less fish, plus the environment usually makes me feel like im in some cafeteria.
... And I don't trust all you can eat sushi.
"All you can eat" and "Sushi" just don't go together, kind of like military inteligence or jumbo shrimp.
not all sushi ACYEs are like Todai.
Midori, for one, is a real sushi bar with the ACYE offering. the rolls are prepared upon your order, not straight from the shelves.
sushi, for some people, is an expensive meal. some sushi bars see to it that these people can afford to pay $25 for as many as they'd like to have in an hour, which otherwise would set them back $50 or more. as for me, I could have had $100 worth myself if I were that desperate.
mmm sushi!
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
