Total Wine Rancho Cucamonga had the Thomas H Handy Straight Rye and the Parker's Hertiage Collection Promise of Hope in yesterday, but just a couple bottles left. It was tempting, but I already used my funds to secure some Black Tuesday and BA Autumn Maple yesterday from the Bruery. Oh Well! I'm still working on my Jefferson's 100% Rye which has actually made me prefer straight rye over bourbon, or at least ryed bourbons over wheated.

Rye whiskey question: has anyone treid any of the following? Would like to get some opinions:
1. Angels Envy Rye
2. Whistlepig Rye
3. High West Rendezvous
4. High West 21 year old rye
Just trying to see what else is out there if I miss out on the Pappy 13 y rye. Sounds like I need to try the Handy Straight Rye based on the previous few posts.

I was just coming on here to ask about Whistlepig Rye.
(Only because I saw it in Breaking Bad season 5 episode 2 just now.)

Of the above I've only tried the High West, but am a big fan of their Ryes. They make a few different bottlings and all are worth picking up. GREAT QPR.

yes, my friend says i should try this whistlepig rye you all speak of. i had my chance to order it at a bar in DTLA when i was hanging with a friend there before a kings event but i didn't see it until i had to be on my way. i wish i had more to say about it but i haven't spent a long enough time in the area since and therefore haven't had a chance to try it for myself yet.

Would that DTLA friend happen to be a platinum vixen, and the drink of choice that day a Fernet? Wild guess.

I've been working on the Jefferson's 100% Straight Rye - DELICIOUS! Drinks incredibly well for 100% Rye. Doesn't really need anything to open it up, but 1/2 an ice cube goes nice. Haven't touched the Jefferson Bourbons yet, and probably wont need to considering how perfect the 100% Rye is.
