Is it beer tasting time yet?
Yes
I've been to the Oregon festival on a couple of occasions. It's a great setting, right on the river, and they always have a great selection of beers. It's also walking distance to many hotels or the light rail if you want to get sloshed and head right to the airport.
The Carlsbad/Pizza Port Real Ale Festival is always a great time. There are plenty of motels within walking distance, not to mention the beach! The selection of ales is always fantastic (last festival's Imperial Red from Rogue was incredible!), and the pizza & caesar salad are the best I've ever had. I try to make the trip from my home in La Crescenta to Carlsbad (or the original Solana Beach location) as often as I can to get my fix. :beerman:
I'll have to second the Carlsbad/Pizza Port Real Ale Festival. Their Strong Ale Festival is pretty awesome too, but The Great American Beer Festival has every kind of beer (except Real Ales). Good Times there for sure. Hell I just got back from the GABF.
Hey Icebat, I thought I was the only Kings fan who likes Real Ales, guess I was wrong. If you like Real Ales, hit up Blue Palms Brewhouse on Hollywood BLVD, right next to the Henry Fonda, they usually have a cask ale.
