the regular fries are meh and the cajun fries are just adequate, imo.

plus for my family of 6 to eat, it was $42 at INO and $67 at Five Guys respectively. for a $25 difference, five guys didnt impress that much to make it a staple.

Red Robin is always a win for us... blue ribbon burger is... i know what im doing for lunch tomorrow.

(Ruely Special: Double Double-Animal Style w/chopped chiles, neopolitan shake and occasionally a large lemon up or arnold palmer.)

Red Robin is a good burger, but that's a sit down joint, not a grab and go. If we're talking sit down joints, then places like The Counter come into play.

    Default Tommy's burgers & chili

When I worked Lennox, there was a Tommy's at the N/E corner of Imperial & Hawthorne Blvd. We called it Ptomaine Tommy's. If you have their chili burger you needed a ****load of napkins. Super messy, but good. Only thing close is a double-double animal style with extra grilled onions, fries and a chocolate shake. Now that I hear they have chilis, I'm there today for lunch.

I've said it before, 5 Guys is quite good but the fact that there is only one that I know of, and it's nowhere near my house, In N Out > 5 Guys, and that's not even taking into account In N Out being the home town institution.

I'm also one of those people that just thinks INO is just a bit overrated. I admire their business plan, and the way they traiin their employees, but the food is only OK IMO.

Five Guys fries are the best I've had since Roll-Inn in Westwood used to make their greasy fries to go along with their formerly $1.50 foot-long sandwiches. I don't mind In-N-Out fries, but as it has been said, it's best to eat them as soon as possible; the appeal is the natural fresh-cut aspect. Five Guys' burgers are okay but it seems like their selling point is the variety of toppings you can put on it; it's like they're the Coldstone's of hamburgers. Personally, I prefer Fuddrucker's assortment of toppings and marbled beef patties and home-made bread over Five Guys.

In-N-Out just has a great balance of ingredients to its typical burger. Add in the option of animal style and it's a big winner IMO. However, my favorite fastfood burger is Fatburger's King Burger with egg. It just blew my mind the first time I had egg with my cheeseburger.
