i tolerate homemade mayo/aioli and only with fries and/or a rocket salad. I actually got my deep aversion to mayo from some fast food joint slathering a ton of it onto a burger. disgusting!
I actually only started eating it again after a 10+ year long break because of hubby's past life in holland and a visit to London.

and ya the nice one from the Russian deli>your standard American version. still not on a burger, please.

You are so right! That stuff is horrendous and I would not use it on anything! I always get my burger w/o the sauce. The In N Out produce is so fresh to begin with, its not like the burger needs any additional wetness. I can understand ketchup or mustard, but 1000 Island? YUCK !

I think you're referring to Kenko. That stuff is good and I use it over regular mayo or MW.

Otherwise don't bother with most mayo very much except for the occasional chicken salad sanwich or cole slaw.

Funny, I really enjoy mayo on a burger, but that's about it. Chicken/tuna/potato/macaroni salad, sandwiches, seeing it in the jar, I gag. But on a cheeseburger, delicious.

for me, it's not the sauce at all that distinguishes them. it's the fact that their patties don't taste like cardboard and they tended to have a better, fresher product than the other fast food chains. with time though, i'm wondering if it's changed since the granddaughter's "inherited" control of the franchise.
