    Default Bagels?

When i was a kid...my pops used to bring home bagels from some place in the valley... not sure where it was or what the name of the place was... but they made them fresh everyday and these things were so damn good... i can remember the taste to this day.

Anyone know of a real deal place to get fresh bagels?

    Thanks in advance

    B

To answer OP question, I like New York Bagel and Deli on Wilshire Blvd.
in Santa Monica (across from Whole Foods). They have excellent bialis, too.
Get there early (they close at 3:00), and you can get the day olds for half price.

I don't think I ever had a bagel until I entered junior high school. Unfortunately I don't think I have much else to contribute here. I don't know of any small bagel places that aren't already chain corporations.

Noah's, Western, Manhattan - all good. Western Bagels seem to be mostly in the valley, so maybe that was it?

Western Bagel is crap. Their bagels become rock hard after an hour. As far as I'm concerned they are the McDonalds of the bagel world.

My money is that bodycheck is talking about I-N-Joy Bagels formerly in Studio City.

we have one of those here in HB. they're good but i got irritated when i had to drive 5 miles just to get an onion bagel and they were sold out and told me to come back in 45 minutes. meh.

i found a place that's just 1 mile away and has pretty much the same thing. they're called bagelmania & coffeehouse.

if anyone knows of any other fresh bagel places in huntington beach that does mainly bagels, i'd like to hear it though. i've been craving bagels like crazy so i have one about once a week with whipped cream cheese from home.

Have a bagel a day, sometimes 2 (just plain no cream cheese). First one is always a GARLIC bagel. Second one (optional) is usually and Everything bagel. Both come from Bagel's Galore in San Pedro and I buy them in the morning fresh
