haha... i don't eat enough vietnamese food! well... i make it at home about once a week. so that explains why i don't know the names of the places that i go to from time to time. i know where they are, just not what they're called. :)

The pho in riverside sucks? Okay, but not the pho in Corona.
All the talk about how delicious these sandwiches are has me craving one. Any suggestions on places in Ventura County or should we just take the drive to LA?
i grew up in ventura county, there weren't any places, let alone good ones, when i lived there. we always drove down to the SGV or OC (little saigon). now i live in OC so i don't need to go so far anymore.
The past few days of this thread had me hankering BAD for Bún thịt nướng chả giò. Went out of my way to my favorite place for lunch today, and while it wasn't their strongest effort (they're usually perfect), it--plus a glass of the iced coffee with condensed milk--remains one of my favorite lunches on the planet. DAMN that's some mighty fine grub.
I used to hit a small place in Chinatown near the corner of Hill and Alpine.
I'd need to buy 3-5 sandwiches though they were cheap as heck they were also small as heck. The carrot shavings were thicker than the meat inside of them.
Sweet Corn tapioca was a standard dessert to have with them.
