Beachwood BBQ Seal Beach
Finally made it to Beachwood BBQ tonight. Been recommended to me by a few people.
First off, the place is smaller than I expected. Luckily they had a table for the 3 of us. Really good beer selection on tap. I went with Stone Double Bastard. Really liked this on tap.
I had a combo plate which inclued pulled pork, barbecue chiken and chose red potato fries and hush puppies on the side. The pork was okay. Their sweet and spicy sauces are awesome. The red potato fries were hella good. Hush puppies were the best I've had. Not too dry like in other places.
The girls split a mac & cheese appetizer. It was enough to fill both my 2 & 4 year old. Tasted it and it was pretty good. They make it from scratch with beer, bacon, green onion and more. Like Stone's better, however it's about $10 less at Beachwood.
Will defintely go there again sometime. A bit pricey for a routine stop. We spent about $70 before tip.
Some of the other beers of note I saw were Stone IPA, Pliny the Elder (tasted this one and was not impressed.), Lagunitass Pilsner, Alesmith X and there were a few more. About 15-20 beers on tap.
OC Register gave this place mad props a week or so ago. Would love to check it out sometime. Love Seal Beach....hope to live there one day.
Sounds like the beer selection alone is worth it !
Double Bastard on tap, mmmm :) Will they pour you a whole pint, or do they pussyfoot around with an 8 oz serving of anything over 7% ABV ?
Where's it located in Seal Beach? I was down there yesterday and will be housesitting for week right after Christmas, so would like to give it a try.

Here's their website. They have a webcam focused on their beers on tap list!
Here's a pic of today's list:
Finally made it to this place. Considering that Seal Beach is almost my second home, can't believe I have missed it this long. Food was great, and plan to go back to sample the beer selection.
Was there most recently last Tuesday with the wife. Had Ballast Point Black Marlin Porter Oak out of the cask. It was off the hook. Also had LAgunitas Cappucino Stout.
A friend of my uncle's owns this place. I would recommend the salmon.
