Ham Kodiak sammich on garlic toast with a spare rib and a hot link!!

This place is about a five minute drive from my house.

Dude - what are you - an upside down earther? It's DOWN here.

The Bear Pit is tasty - their Shirley's sauce (available on request) is a very delicious sweet version of their standard BBQ sauce. It's expensive every time we go, though, as my wife goes through about a bottle of that crap a month. She puts it on everything.

I have yet to try the Bear Pit and Hogly Wogly's. I used to frequent Chris & Pitt's on Victory Blvd in NoHo until they closed it.

other options in the eastern part of SFV are Uncle Andre's on Moorpark and Colfax, and Ribs USA on Olive St near the NBC and Disney studios in Burbank.

Uncle Andre's is pretty good, but the place has too much a commercial feel to it. I order a takeout anyway since I live 5 mins away from it.

Hm.... I could walk there, but why would I do something like that?

    Thanks for the heads up!

Dave's is good. However, I prefer Red's BBQ on Cochran, near Sycamore, when I dine in my hometown.

Great ribs (baby back and spare), outstanding tri-tip, juicy chicken and superb prime rib (on Fridays).

Ate at Furious Q's down the street. It was good, but I think I'll get the tri-tip next time. The pork ribs seemed a little too smokey with no sweet at all. It tasted like he burnt a forrest under it.

I grew up in the valley and have always wondered about The Bear Pit, but never tried it. My mom is a big Hogly Wogly's fan, so that's been our BBQ. But I think I'll give the bear Pit a try!

I can't wait - lamb sandwich on garlic toast with beans and more beans.
