I'm surprised there's no love for The C&O here. I think it's a fun little place.

I like C&O in LA, but only for large parties, not somewhere I would take a date or small parties to. The portions are good but the ambiance is far from intimate.

Down here in San Diego I like...
Trattoria La Strada in the Gaslamp
    Cafe Zucchero in Little Italy

What should I order at C&O?

Last time I was there I was too focused on an escape plan to think about the food.

LOVE Italian food... More votes from me for:

Battista's Hole in the Wall in Vegas
    Brogino's in Redondo Beach
C&O Trattoria (those rolls - I called them the Garlic Balls - are freakin' addicting)

Adding a vote for Lomeli's in Gardena Lomeli's Restaurant - Home Page

We finally went to Lucio's Ristorante here in Las Vegas last night. The food, wine and service were truly excellent. I would highly recommend it if you have a car here to go off-Strip. It's at the intersection of Sahara and Durango.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Piero's in Vega$... I made it a point to go there whenever I was on my bi-yearly business trips after a client turned me on to it.

Although it has a great reputation, Piero's is expensive. For example...

    INSALATA CAPRESE $14.00
Roma tomato, fresh buffalo mozzarella, basil, pinenuts, oil, & vinegar

    FETTUCCINE ALFREDO ALL' AUGUSTEO $26.00
Fresh egg noodles tossed in thick cream and parmesan cheese

    NODINO "GRAN DUCA' ALBA" $40.00
Sauteed veal chop with mushrooms in a creamy brandy sauce

A dinner for 2 with a nice bottle of wine could easily hit the $200 - 300 range.
