I dunno if it's a Best in the US candidate, but I love that pizza from that place in NYNY in Vegas. I look forward to it every year and I was pissed I didn't get the chance to have any last year.

    But this year, my friend....

Beerman, have you tried Pizza Connection on Magnolia and Coldwater? That place successfully turned me back into liking pizza after about a decade of non-appetite.

Also, I haven't eaten there in years, but I remember Joe Peeps (Magnolia and Whitsett) having good stuff.

Here is new pizza place that opened 6 weeks ago I think. It's called Due Pizzeria. They bake their pizza's in a wood fired oven. The pizza's are excellent , plus a great sauce. Here is their website address. Untitled Document

If you guys are in West LA I highly recommend Lamonica's Pizza in Westwood. They're dough is flown in from NY city.

If you're in NY I highly recommend Lombardi's Pizza in Little Italy. They still use coal ovens and fresh buffalo mozarella.

Last but not least, I think the best way to measure a pizza joint is by having a slice of their cheese pizza. The dough znd the sauce are really easy to grade this way.
+1.....I remember when they had one in Old Town Pasadena. I used to go there while working. Very good pizza.....

If you like NY style pizza try Joe's in Santa Monica.

Near home, we usually go to Stuft Pizza in San Pedro. We like Me-N-Ed's in Lakewood too...used to go over there after the husband's hockey games.

Joe Peeps is still there. I had their pizza once but that was a few years ago, so I can't remember if I liked it or not.

there's a pizza place on Magnolia and Lankershim. I forget the name but I always see it whenever I drove by. have you been there?

No the Lamonicas on the south side of Colorado Bl. I believe between Fair Oaks and Delacey. Alas, as with many of the other businesses there the rent must have gone through the roof and they closed down......
