There's a little bakery in Glendale called Rolling Pin that has this Dutch Crunch Bread in loaf and roll forms...oh. my. god. I don't know what they do to the tops of the breads, but it's all crackly and crunchy and the bread inside is SO soft. I think they put crack in it. That's the only explanation I can think of.
I don't know what they call it, but the dark oat-covered bread they serve at Black Angus is my crack. Seriously. I'd smack all you people for a hunk of that bread.
That pumpernickel they serve at the Cheesecake Factory. But the ultimate to me is a good french loaf. When done right, it is simple but heavenly.
Reminds me of all the Parisians marching like soldiers on a parade ground every evening, pointing their french loaves to the sky.
On top of being lactose intolerant, I apparently also have a gluten allergy.
So I don't have a favorite bread.
Except for pumpernickel.

Since you've helped so much in my camera knowledge...time to spread the love back. If you like sourdough...check this place out (since you are an LB guy).
Old Town Baking Company
Long Beach Southeast Farmers Market
It's at the farmers market next to 2nd street on Sundays. Try their sourdough and prepare to be hooked. Enjoy!
yeah I have hit that bread guy a lot of times. Great stuff!
Another bread I loved was at Du-Par's. I think it's Zuchinni Bread and they serve it warm with butter. AMAZING. I haven't had it for years but it rocked.
Great - now I wanna just go eat a whole loaf of any kind of bread. Bread is GOOOOOOD.
Garlic rolls at C&O Trattoria - good stuff
