Hugo's Frog Bar has great seafood and is adjacent to Gibson's Steak House. Both are great. Try Rosebud as well.

Topolobampo/Frontera Grill on Clark Street are also excellent choices.

    Giordanos.
    Yum.

And they ship. If I can't wait until July when I'm there for a convention, I might have one shipped.

And yes on the Billy Goat Tavern.

Take her for a walk on Navy Pier and maybe one of the architectural boat tours. Always fun.

When I was there a year ago I wasn't eating meat so I could recommend some veggie places.

If you and your kid like baseball, you can check out Harry Caray's but it's pretty tourisy and may take a while to get a table. I also have been told about a burger place called Kuma's where all of the hamburgers are named after metal bands. That's all I got. Sorry.

Hah, I used to rollerblade to Hot Dougs when I lived in Chicago for lunch like once a week. I dont know whats sadder, the fact I rollerbladed or the fact I rollerbladed to get hot dogs! In any event Hot Dougs is amazing. Ive eaten there over 40 or 50 times and never got sick of it which is a good sign.

There used to be a place on Clybourn called Pequods Pizza which was the best Chicago style pizza in the city. Not sure if its still there but it killed Malnati's, Giordanos and the like.

The finest deli I've ever eaten is just adjacent to the south loop called Manny's (sorry Brents in Northridge but they just eek you out.) Everything is served cafeteria style but its amazing. Right off Roosevelt and Jefferson.

Huge fan of Gibson's as some others have mentioned. Small tidbit is Gibsons usually fills up most nights (maybe not anymore ebcause of the recession) but if you couldnt get in there, just make your res at Hugo's Frog Bar next door as you can order off the full Gibson's menu there if you're so inclined. The steaks are phenomenal. There Shrimp cocktail is the best in America in my opinion.

For ribs your best bet is the Twin Anchors in Lincoln park. Been there for years and years. Nothing fancy but all the locals know of it. Amazing ribs....amazing.

Hope some of these can help you but otherwise, enjoy the windy city!
