So.....I got tagged to bring chili for Super Bowl Sunday and would appreciate any suggestions.
I'm starting with Carroll Shelby's chili mix (dang things come in a box now, not a bag anymore). I plan on using tri-tip instead of ground beef along with chopped and stewed tomatos, pinto and kidney beans along with some extra onions and garlic.
Braise the beef and crock pot the whole lot overnight. Add the beans in the morning so they don't fall appart a couple hours before packing it up.
I KNOW I'M MISSING SOMETHING!!!
You all have been flawless in advice in the past....what did I miss?
chipotle peppers canned in adobo sauce. 2 is plenty spicy. 5 will make your nose run.
here's a little secret: peanut butter. i know it's a leap of faith, but a couple of tablespoons give your chili a nice bottom end.
