The main course was an herb-stuffed, bacon-wrapped roast tenderloin, scalloped potatoes with gruyere and truffle oil, and rosemary and garlic roasted baby beets. Topped the meal off with cranberry granita.

DAMN.... I knew you knew your grub, but that's a feast fit for Royalty!!! Screw you coming out here Jo.... I'm canceling mine and coming to you! Unreal! Man, I can smell that truffle oil already........

so i'm back from the inlaws and this is what we had:

christmas eve - traditional réveillon dinner (the kind french people have just after midnight mass): boudin sausage with apples and mashed potatoes. paired with louis jadot beaujolais.

christmas lunch - ham from costco (which was really good because it wasn't too salty), roasted potatoes, cranberry & pear relish, brussel sprouts, yorkshire pudding and a green leaf/mandarin orange salad. paired with a jadot pinot noir. dessert was a bűche that my mother in law makes every christmas.

all the above is comfort food to me... damn, i wish xmas wasn't over. :(

I've eaten like 20 tamales over the past 3 days. It's the food you NEVER get sick of.
