Not Stoker from HB. I went to school in Corona Del Mar. The name Stoker is a name I use on boating sites because it is the make of a boat I used to own.
Let me know when you will be around one of my locations and I will be happy to meet you there for a meal on me.
As far as the food not being healthy......it is probably some of the healthiest mexican food you can get. WE don't use any preservatives and everything is delivered fresh daily. We don't own freezers and have the strictest quality control in the industry.
I will be in Belmont Shore tomorrow if anyone is interested in stopping by.
Thanks,
Stoker
OK so we tried Chronic Tacos just before they closed at 9 PM on Sunday and I have to say it was pretty damn good. I had a chicken burrito and it was on a huge tortilla with EXCELLENT Spanish rice and you can pick your fixin's like at Chipotle. Wifey had a potato taco and a carne asada taco and both were excellent and HUGE and even included guacamole at no extra charge. The price was right and the food is excellent! With so many Mexican places around I was kind of ho-hum about this place opening but I am pleasantly surprised! I will make this a regular stop from now on! It's right at the foot of the Belmont Pier if you are in the area.
Damn, I should have asked for the Stoker special.
Well today I tried the carne asada taco, which was tender, quality marinated steak, but that paled to the battered fish taco.
THE BATTERED FISH TACO IS 100% PURE PWNAGE!!
It took an extra 3 or 4 minutes to prepare but was well worth every second of the wait. I went with the lettuce, (free) guacamole, the pink sauce (great!), cheese and green hot sauce. Oh yeah and a ton of fresh squeezed lime slices of course. OMG, the fish was thick and extra criunchy! YUMMY!!
I know what my regular item will be from now on!
OK after a couple months of taco eating. I give these guys a thumbs up. Great LB bro-ham music pumping all day and they are open pretty late for that on-the-way-home burrito.
The breaded fish tacos with the santa fe sauce take the prize for best entre.
There are two locations near me. One in Lancaster, CA and one in Palmdale, CA. I'll have to give them a try. Thanks for posting this thread.
I want me some weed tacos!!!
Yesterday my wife and I went to the OC Fair. On our way down from the AV, we stopped at the Chronic Taco in Lancaster, CA.
The food and service was REALLY GOOD!
My wife had the Carne Asada Taco and the Potato Taco; I had the Carne Asada Tostada bowl and Carne Asada Taco. We ordered the Chicken Taquitos as well and shared them. The portions were extremely generous with plenty of sour cream and guachamole.
I definitely recommend the hot sauce instead of the mild sauce. The mild sauce is very mild...Ketchup has more spice in it. The ingredients were extremely fresh and the carne asada was seasoned nicely. The amount of sour cream and guachamole was more than sufficient.
A guy seated near us had one of their burritos and it looked amazing! The tortilla was huge (The menu says they use a 13" tortilla and the amount of stuff inside the tortilla was incredible. The guy got through about 3/4 of it and took the rest home with him. He was very happy with the food and gave lots of compliments to the staff as he left.
I was very happy with the service. The entire staff were extremely courteous and friendly and they went above and beyond to ensure everyone was well taken care of. The best thing for me is that the Lancaster location is @ the corner of Ave L and 10th ST. West adjacent to the COSTCO! This guarantees that there will be at least one trip to Chronic Tacos every two weeks...OK That will be the minimum for sure. I could see this being a twice weekly kind of palce for me.
