Right. You don't go to Clearman's for the best steak in the world. It is overpriced. You go there because of the other food like the salads and potatoes, and it's a really cool place to take kids because of the shtick/atmosphere. When I was a kid I always loved being able to throw my peanuts on the floor. Hehe.

Nommie and I ate there once in San Gabriel. The food I had wasn't too bad (I had a sandwich, I guess I was missing out on the good stuff) at all. However, our garlic bread was too soggy and greasy. I guess someone went overkill w/ the garlic spread. So we ended up taking it home, and the following day when I toasted the garlic bread, it actually tasted a whole lot better and less soggy too.

Hopefully next time I'll try the steak and take home a whole bunch of bread and even the spread itself.

we love clearmans and buy their spread & make the best grilled cheese with it.

I grew up at Edwards Steakhouse. Always had the Pink Lady roast beef. Would always take home some of the salad dressing too. Was a shame when they closed the Downtown LA location, they knew my family by name there.

I drove by Edwards in El Monte today and was thinking I need to go there again one day soon.

Northwoods Inn and Edwards are sooo good. Luv their bread and salad. Their steak isn't bad either. Sure it's a bit overpriced, but for a "once in a while" place, it's quite acceptable.

the boat i wanted to try that ol ship but it closed by the time i was able to so i had to settle for northwoods inn its not to shabby it has a great atmosphre good roasted goobers but the food is a bit over priced but id go back again

Oh I agree about Chris N Pitt's. It sucked the last I went there too.

I was at Edwards a couple years back and it was still pretty good, the salad dressing was just as good and still had some of the OLD waitresses, from the LA location. That was a hoot.
