I guess you don't watch Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Good Eats, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, Unwrapped etc....just saying. I hear what you are saying though. But you do realize that a huge portion of the Cooking Channels programming is actually old right?

Yes I do realize the Cooking Channel programming is old. I've been watching for years. It's still better than roach coach races and housewife chef competitions. Better than that douchy diner heart attack waiting to happen and the mindless best thing I ever ate horse**** too.

Alton Brown is good...but he'll eventually get squeezed over to the new channel by some crappy toaster streudel competition show or something.

Food Jammers is interesting. I'm still undecided on it though. The whole concept is pretty cool, but the 3 guys are just...how can I put this...SO ****ing hipster-emo-pansypantsy-weird that they end up annoying me before I can see if their experiments ever turn out. AND if any one of those 3 were to ever serve me food, I'd make them get haircuts and shower 10 times before making it. Dirty hippies.

Out of what you just mentioned, Good Eats is the only thing I'd use to make a point. The other shows listed and on FN are just crap. But like Ian said earlier, to each his/her own.

And this is why job is my e-soulmate. I'll take a vintage COOKING show over ANY flash-in-the-pan-gimmick-crap show on FN any day. FN rose to it's fame and glory on the backs of the vintage shows that are on CC now. FN is like, the trendy-let's-watch-it-so-we-can-pretend-like-we-know-food-to-our-friends while CC is just straight, honest COOKING. No contests, no fluff, no bull****.

I use DDD to find new places to eat. My lady and I have gone to several places that we've seen on Guy's show. Simply b/c of that its worth watching. Sure Guy is a little douchy but he goes to great restaurants. Same thing with the best thing I ever ate. So for us it totally works.

I think Alton will be ok. I feel that people love his science, nerdiness on Good Eats. I live that show. And he hosts Iron Chef America. Plus an old show of his is already on the Cooking Channel, Feasting on Asphalt. Good show as well.

well, all good things must come to an end i suppose. caught a commercial tonight for rachael ray's new show on cooking channel on saturdays. now the channel's tainted. rob2716, where's that cast iron skillet of yours? i may need to road trip it to their studios and introduce myself to her.
