Pinks and Roscoe's are overrated...
The Polish is sometimes too hot for me, takes away the enjoyment of eating it...though I always get one heh.
I tried the Huell Howser once, it was ok.
I went to the Roscoe's in Pasadena/Altadena(?) every couple of months when I lived up there. Too pricey for what you get.
I like the 3 Dog Night... 3 hot dogs, cheese, bacon, chili and onions wrapped in a tortilla!
I could go the rest of my life without ever eating Pink's again.
It's a gut bomb.
West LA Roscoes used to let us bring our own Lowenbrau.
Pinks is great. However if you ever find yourself in Chicago you've got to try Demon Dogs, it's a few blocks away from Wrigley Field. The best hot dogs & fries I've ever had, they pour the fries over your dog in the container. Damn I hungry now.
I've lived in Pasadena almost 5 years now. I'm walking distance from the Roscoe's location here and had never been.... until this morning. It's been 1.5 hours, and I'm still in a waffle coma. It did seem a little pricey, but it was good. Waffles - really good. Fried chicken - really good. Eaten together, I'm still not sure. I tried a couple times to have a bite of both at the same time, and it didn't really work for me. However, after a couple bites of waffle, then chomping down on the chicken, it seemed even crispier and a little saltier. All kinds of fried chicken goodness. I wouldn't go there all the time, but I'll definitely go back.
I will be at Roscoe's tomorrow with the family visiting from Vegas! Save the #13 Carol C. Special for ME!

I'm in the "Pink's is overated" crowd, i think the best dogs in LA are at Costco...
Anyhow, when it comes to Roscoes, you have to hit the Pico or Sunset/Gower locations. The Pasadena location is missing the atmosphere if you will. Lastly, Roscoes has raised their prices in the last 2 years, but it's still damn worth it!!!
