    Default Daikokuya Ramen?

Went to Daikokuya Ramen in LA on Saturday. This was my first trip to a ramen restaurant, and reading reviews online, this place came highly recommended. When we got there, there was a line about 10 people deep out the door, and it was only like 4:00 p.m.

To make a long story short, I was a little disappointed w/ the overall flavor of the ramen. It seemed a little bland. Granted, my ONLY experience to this point w/ ramen is Top Ramen, so in no way am I an expert on the subject. The marinated egg didn't seem to have any different flavor than a regular hard boiled egg.

My question is: Should I try a different place, or were my expectations a little out of whack?

    1. You're loony.
    2. Try Orochon, it's not too far from Daikokuya and it's pretty good as well.

You were probably doing it wrong. Here's what to do:

Kidding aside, I mean regular ramen usually is sort of bland so I don't know what sort of flavor you were expecting. I usually go to Ramen-ya on the Westside, though, so I can't compare to Daikokuya.
