The Penalty Box was closed last night so we went to El Cholo, right near LA Live by the Metro station. Birdman told me he eats there all the time so we thought we'd check it out. We were floored by the taste and quality of the dishes and will go back regularly for sure. Sheri had some stuffed adobo chiles with red sauce over them and green sauce covering the plate and raved about it. I had enchiladas mariscos that were stuffed with lobster, shrimp and scallops. OMG! it was better than I hoped it would be (which doesn't happen often) with plenty of seafood and great sauce.
The place has a great vibe in the garden area, you would hardly know you are in the middle of a parking lot at LA Live. I also liked the signed pic of Michael Jackson in the hallway, surprised it's still there and not on Ebay.
It's among the top Mexican places I have ever tried and that's saying a lot. Be back soon!

When I lived in the Hollywood area in the 70s, we used to go to the original El Cholo on Western. I'll have to try out the one on Flower. Thanks for the recommendation.

I'm not a fan. I had "issues" last time I went. The ambiance is great though.

Did they have a rule outlawing Burger King ponchos?
