El Gallo Giro!
There is a mini chain of authentic Mexican food places in LA called El Gallo Giro. When you walk in these places you actually feel like you have been transported to Mexico. Each one has a panaderia selling delicious pastries and sweets for cents on the dollar. The real attraction however is the different meats they have marinating for their tacos and burritos. Carnitas, Carne Asada, Al Pastor, Pollo etc....Everything is under 7 bucks give or take.
They also have authentic fruit drinks you can buy like tamarind or melon juices that they make.
I ate at the one (by accident actually) on PCH and Long Beach Blvd. in Long Beach. After I enjoyed it so much, I looked it up on the world wide webs and saw there were about 6 of them in LA. Has anyone else dined at one of these fine establishments? Your thoughts?
If you haven't, I suggest getting there if you like simple, true & fast Mexican food.
Cheers!

There is one in East LA that my parents like going to. They say it is really good and like the Al Pastor and the aguas frescas. I haven't tried, but have been meaning to (for like 5 years).
