I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
Oh, I thought you meant he died.
I read the story already but for someone that hasn't, yeah I can see how the thread title makes it sound like Emeril is dead.
well, instead of Emeril Live, would it just be Emeril Dead?
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
Not a huge fan, but at least it was one of the "watchable in the extreme need" category of FoodTV shows. Watch them replace it with more Ray Ray, Sandra Lee frugal shopping tips or some other merde they've been pushing lately.
No more Sandre Lee. They have WAY too many white people cooking white people food on that channel.
they need someone like
Bourdain
This thing had most definitely run it's course. Like an old tube of toothpaste, he and foodtv squeezed every ounce of retail mileage possible out of these catch phrases--and just kept on rolling, pinching and squeezing 'til there's just nothing left. Then they unrolled--curled it to the other side--and squeezed some more. The beginning of the end was the move to the new set. I was never an BIG fan, but that's where they lost me. The old one was small, subtle and familiar. The new was a design disaster of horrific proportions that was murder on the eyes, reduced him to the role of a circus clown, and oozed doom from every over-blown accent and tackily adorned vividly-colored false panel. BUT... foodtv's cash cow and novelty aside, I give him enormous credit for working his ass off and reaching people and parts of America with even the basics of the gospel of gourmet that would not have otherwise become hip to it. Food awareness here and the American palate has SO far to go.... but Emeril Live did more good than harm to be sure. Especially in the earlier years.
I only hope my poor grandma will be OK..... she's 97, lives a pretty regimented life, and ADORES and watches him every day in his prime-time slot. I'm sure she's not too happy about it. Better call her tomorrow to see how she's holding up....
