Default Farmer's Harvest in Huntington Beach

    GO!!!!!!!!!!!

Corner of Beach and Garfield, in the Stein Mart Center.

Great selection of fresh produce. We walked through the aisles touching all of the fruit, and most of it was ready to eat NOW!!!!

Small selection of meat. The Flat Iron we had, we could have done more with it than just salt, but it tasted like beef and was nice and tender (8 oz. piece for $3.99). We also picked up 1 lb. of 80/20 ground beef for burgers tomorrow.

Great beer selection. The misses informs me that the Beer buyer was the one from HiTime. I grabbed the Jolly Pumpkin Farmhouse Ale (Bam Biere).

The also have an orange juicer where you can get fresh OJ (which we did, and DAMN!!!!), as well as a 3 Peanut Butter machines (1 Peanut, 1 Honey Roasted Peanut, and 1 Almond).

I wish it was closer to where I live, but it is well worth the drive.

Gives me an alternative to the Whole Paycheck that is being built at the old Circuit City location in Bella Terra.

I live right by this. (I'm off beach & Adams). I used to go there when it was the bookstore. my husband keeps mentioning that I should check it out. I went to the sprouts that just opened on Adams and while I like some aspects of it, I was bumming on my peaches and nectarines being not ripe, but mushy.

do they have organic produce? I'm going to be making my baby's food soon and will probably only buy organic at that point.

I'm excited about the whole foods that's gonna open up. I hate that it's in Bella Terra. the parking lot is a nightmare but it's better than having to drive to long beach which I was doing the whole time i was preggo.

They have some organic produce. However, they will rotate due to the price of the organic foods.

and yes, I agree with the parking at Bella Terra, especially where the Whole Foods will be located. However, looking at the available space at Bella Terra, there probably wasn't a spot suitable for Whole Foods except the old Circuit City location. The old Mervyns store is too big, and who knows what the hell they are doing with the Montgomery Ward's area. I think it was supposed to be a "mixed use" area, with condo's, restaurants, etc..

thanks for that link! it sounds like I might like it so I'll give it a try soon.

it's not just the parking situation that I hate at Bella Terra. people drive like idiots in the lot, too. no one (heh!) knows how to yield to the traffic coming in from edinger. it drives me insane so much that I:
    1) try to avoid going there on weekends when it's busy.
    2) always take gothard, turn right onto edinger and then turn into the parking lot where the old woolworth's is.
    3) always park by ulta and costplus, even if I have to walk to the other end.

not sure what I'll do once whole foods opens... go there during the day on a weekday?

ok, i went here and couldn't find ANY organic produce. otherwise, everything looked really fresh and they had some red corn, which i had never seen before. they had some cage free, antibiotic free chicken also but it was vacuum packed, pricey and boneless. (i prefer bone-in for flavor). oh well. it'll be a "once in a while" stop.

Supposedly Costco is going in to the former Mervyn's site. I can only imagine what parking is going to be like once Whole Foods and Costco open there.

The store will be situated on the northwest portion of the property near the land set aside for the planned Village at Bella Terra, a mixed-use residential, retail and entertainment development. Costco will offer a full-format store with bakery items, hot dogs and a gas station.

great, there goes my usual point of entry and "not as crowded" side of the parking lot option. :(

I don't even like costco so there's no real reward for me in giving up the quiet side of the lot. at least business is doing greeeeat at Bella Terra...
