    Default The Food Addiction Thread.

No, Im not talking about eating disorder, "I weight 400 lbs and I dont know why!" crap. I'm talking about things you just can't live without.

I have a unhealthy addiction to a Jersey Mike's Giant#6 Roast Beef and Provolone sub w/everything on it. I have one once a week now after having 2 a week for about 2 years. Im recovering I think.

I also have a habit of drinking too much Starbucks. In the summer months I destroy a Venti Mocha Frapp every afternoon. In the winter months its a Extra Hot Triple Venti Latte...once and sometime twice a day. My wife is worse. She drinks between 2 and 3 Grande Nonfat Latte's a day, 365.

I need something , anything every few days with shoyu and wasabi in it. Sushi, Sashimi, Manapua, blackened Ahi, Mandoo, Dim Sum...etc. ANYTHING.

Not really addicted to sweets or deserts like a bunch of people. I tend to drink my sugars.

    What are your food addictions?

Im with you on the Jalapeños. I think I've killed off all my Jalapeño taste buds because Ive recently bumped up to Habaneros.

Yep. 2 years ago during tax time my wife and I figured out we spent 5K at "Da Bucks" that year. I think we're down to about $3900 now....Damn Recession!

You guys would save a HELLUVA lot of money if you brewed your own coffee. And, dare I say, you'd have a much tastier and better quality drink too.

There isn't really anything that I need everyday except for coffee. I needs me my coffee and I take it like I take my women: with sugar and cream. I don't need anything fancy. Just a large cup of good coffee.

Other things I'm pretty much always craving:

Burgers. Cheese, bacon, chili, pastrami, onion rings, grilled onions, avocados, whatever. Damn, now I'm craving a bacon avocado cheeseburger from Yaki's.

Burritos: Pretty much anything wrapped in a tortilla is game to be scarfed down. What I would do to a Hollenbeck at El Tepeyac, mm mm mmmmm.

Sushi: Anything salmon. Raw, cooked, and yes, even though it may be sneered upon by some, with cream cheese. White tuna is awesome. Also dig tuna, albacore, yellowtail, unagi, and hell I'll even try another round of uni.

Indian food: Just tried Indian food for the first time a few years ago and was blown away. I'd eat it weekly if I could (and many times have). I don't really know all the names of the dishes but chicken mahkni is my fav and I've developed a serious liking for the creamed spinach/cheese dish (not sure if it's spinach. Actually, I don't think it is).

Chinese food: Yes, it's cliche and totally americanized, but dammit it tastes great. I'll throw down a large plate of sesame beef from Chinese Deli in 3 seconds flat. Love lo mein and gyoza.

Booze: what else needs to be said?

There's a bunch of other things I'm always craving at any given moment.

Wahoo's wafu bowl, with cajun white beans, white rice, add Mr Lee's hot sauce. Have to have it once a week.

Also, even though I am vegetarian, I can't quite give up sushi. Love it.

And Diet Coke. Really trying to break that addiction, with little success.

I brew my own coffee and its delicious. As for tastier, its apple and oranges. I dont buy coffee from Starbucks, thats not what I'm looking for. If I want a cup of regular coffee, I swing by Dunkin. Dunkin pwns Starbucks in the straight up "cup of joe" department.

As for saving $$$$, **** it, Im not working to give my $$$$ to the government I work to make me and my family happy.
