FoodTV poll: Most annoying: Rachael Rae, Paula Deen, Bobby Flay or Alton Brown?

I don't mind Alton. Good Eats is an interesting show.

Paula isn't so bad and she does have some good down home recipes.

I used to really like Rachael but she is way too big for the world now.

So it comes to the biggest jerk in all of tv chefdom ... Bobby Flay. Not one thing he makes is bad. Every steak he makes is the best. The dude isn't that good with a bbq to be honest.

The guy I used to really, really like was Jamie Oliver, The Naked Chef. I know he does other things/shows now and I haven't watched them but I haven't seen them. If his new stuff is like the old stuff then I would still like him.

And no matter how many of you think that Giada's head is too big, she is the bomb.

OMG! That is Rachel!!

Rachel Ray is by far the worst. She started out okay but selling her soul to Oprah has really hurt her in the credibility department.

Paula Deen is okay, but her two sticks a butter with a cup of white sugar and a cup of brown sugar recipes are just too much for me.

Bobby Flay is teh man with the grill. He makes lots of stuff that would be great if he didnt yuppify the recipe so much.

Alton is informative on Good Eats, but i agree that he is on way too many shows.

On to the good. Giada is great. My girlfriend and I use her recipes the most. She seems to just use simple ingredients and simple techniques while using quality ingredients.

Michael Chiarello (sp?) makes some good stuff pretty frequently too

The Dinner: Impossible show is entertaining every once in a while.

Also, on the Discovery Home channel there are a couple of shows that are good, IMO. Chef at Home (link) and Kylie Kwong's (link) shows are pretty good.

On public television...Rick Bayless (link) and Ming Tsai (link) arent bad at all.

I personally HATE Bobby Flay
I personally am indifferent to the other two

Gotta agree with Foof... Bobby Flay is an ass hat. I find Rachel Ray annoying as hell with all of her little catch phrases and her snickering. Some of the other hosts have their own phrases, i.e. Emeril's "you could put that on a city bus and it would taste good". But she peppers her shows with them so much that it's over-seasoned.

Bobby Flay is just an ass, pure and simple.

Rachel was ok in the beginning, but the last few years since she's been coked up, I can't handle it.

I will personally kill Sandra Lee on sight if I ever run into her.

Michael Chiarello's recipes I like. Rick Bayless I LOVE, and Ming Tsai I miss. He's on public TV now, but East meets West was interesting. Although his mom and dad bugged me a little.

But again off-network, I love Andrea Immer (her wine-pairing cookbook of original recipes absolutely ROCKS) and America's Test Kitchen kicks MAJOR ass. Now THAT is a great show. The recipes are almost always foolproof, and the product testing is great. No celeb bull**** there. It hasn't changed one iota in well over 10 years.

And for you Tony Bourdain fans, if you haven't read his guest blog rant on foodTV chefs, check it out HERE. It's HILARIOUS. He's done other guest blogs there recently too.

I don't even know what it is about Alton that I dislike but Good Eats annoys the hell out of me. I like Iron Chef America despite him. I can't believe he got no other votes.


Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is the best show on the channel by far. One of about 5 shows I actually DVR.
