    Default The Foundry on Melrose

I took my wife out for her birthday yesterday to the Foundry on Melrose for dinner last night.

It is owned and run by Chef Eric Greenspan who unlike a lot of places owned by a "celebrity chef"(he has been on and won Iron Chef America against Bobby Flay) was actually in the kitchen working on the food that was prepaired for us.

The food was fantastic. We had Rib Eye as well as an Aspargus appetizer and the Beet salad. With a couple of cocktails each it still came to around $150.00

One nice thing we did not know is that they do allow you to bring 2 bottles of wine without charging a corkage fee. ($10.00 per bottle for the 3rd or more)
Only drawback is parking in the area.

Been here a handful of times. Eric is usually working there. The food has always been great. Never disappointing. It can be a tad pricey, but its become very popular so that is to be expected.

Another thing they advertise on the wine front that I have yet to try is that if you make a reservation and tell them what wine you are bringing, they will personalize a tasting menu around the wine.

When you go, you have to order the grilled cheese sandwich. It is to die for.
