Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market
A few opened up here in Upland and I've been there a few times.
They have some really good stuff. Their Fresh & Easy Brand Dark Chocolate Gelato compares to gelato I had in Italy! It is really good stuff.
Just be sure to check the expiration date on the fresh stuff as a lot of stuff doesn't have preservatives and will only last for a few days.
I prefer going here instead of the big market because I only get what I need. They are smaller and cheaper (even on the same items) than the big markets, but bigger than TJs. They also have a beer (a few beers, but decent ones: Fat Tire, Guiness, Sam Adams) & wine section.
Has anyone else tried this place out? Any thoughts?

I have. You're right. Cool stuff. I had the curry thing with rice and chicken and it was actually pretty decent. It's not straight from INdia or anything but definitely not bad.

I really enjoy this supermarket. They even have clearence items at a good price. Try their peanut butter cookies. Yummy!!!
When I was in London for the start of the season, there was a lot of these markets around town. I highly recommend this market.

There is one down the street here in Simi Valley. They keep sending $5 coupons which is cool. Pretty good stuff. You are right though some of the stuffs expires pretty quick. I don't know if it will last, it always seems pretty empty in there.

We've built a few here in Vegas and I don't know. I mean, it's BRITISH! It's owned by Tesco which is supposed to be a British company that's bigger than Wal-Mart. I suppose I'll have to actually walk into one of these stores one day and check it out for myself though.

the concept is cool, appealing to, as they put it "time starved consumers" and the execution is decent, but I'm not sure their target demographic (if there can be one for a grocery store) is necessarily as into it as they think.

You're better off going to Trader Joe's if you have access to one. Better products and better prices.
