Yeah, that's why I said it was "pretty nice". Not up to par with some of the other burgers mentioned. So far, I have not found a really great burger in the area. But if I have enough beer, they start tasting a bit better.

Drive past it all the time but have never been. I eat at Michael's on Topanga about once a week since it is right by the office.

The Standing Room on Cataline & Diamond in the back of the liqueur store. Hawaiian/Korean fusion. Hands down one of the best burgers ive ever had. I get the "Cash" & my gf gets the "Chance" (be warned if they ask if you want it extra spicy, cause that **** is hot). The sweet potato fries and sauces are also great.

    You get any shwag?
Beat you in that I had it in my first post. It was a joke b/c you mentioned if out of town places were cool. OF COURSE THEY ARE! I was being a smartass. My swag was a really full belly. We were on a tight schedule so had to get in and out. But when/if we go back to Chicago we will absolutely go back.

You know, I finally had the fried egg on a burger in Redondo called Sophie's Place. Meh, I can totally do w/o it. Really didn't do it for me. At least in that particular instance.

I actually do like a fried egg on a burger. But I need the egg to be over easy and it needs to be paired with an Ortega whole green chile'. I get that, I'm good to go...

I thought the 49er Tavern on PCH/Bellflower & 7th had a pretty good burger for being a hole in the wall bar. I've only had one, and it was a couple years ago, so don't hold me to it. But I do recall being pleasantly surprised, and enjoyed the seasoning they used in it.

For an everyday burger, I go to Crazee Burger in Northpark, SD. My favorite burger joint here in San Diego. Hodad's is ok but not as good as Crazee which has different game meats you can try.

In Hawaii I'm partial to Kua'Aina, I don't know if they still have one in Santa Monica at the 3rd St. Promenade.
I get the occasional burger from restaurants but if they have other stuff I'll most likely not get a burger but the Whisk-N-Ladle/PrepKitchen and Davanti's have nice burgers.

If a place doesn't have bacon on the menu I won't go unless I'm with people from out of town that need to go. (In-N-Out/Burger Lounge)

Thinkin about takin the wifey to the new Slater's 50/50 in Lake Forest tonight.

    Gonna try:
THE FLAMIN’ HOT; signature fire beef patty, beer battered jalapeņos, fire roasted green chilies, pepper jack cheese and chipotle adobo mayo on white brioche.
    YUM!
