The Great Burger Thread!
I know there have been random comments in threads about burgers in the past but I thought it'd be nice to have it all in one place. I'm a burger whore and always looking for a new one to try. Whether its a sexy burger or a traditional style burger I'm game.
Here are some of my favorites, so far.....
The Tripel in Playa del Rey
Fine Food | The Tripel
The Tripel burger but I get it on the pretzel bun.
DUCK CONFIT, PORK, AND AGED BEEF, ONION BRIOCHE BUN, TRUFFLE PECORINO, ARUGULA, HOUSE MADE APRICOT JAM 15
This is a sexy burger. My absolute favorite so far. The first time I ate it I started laughing mid bite b/c it was so damn good.
The burger at Hudson House
Hudson House: EATS
GRILLED ONION, BACON, JARLSBERG CHEESE, WILD ARUGULA
This one I'd still throw in the "gourmet" category even though its pretty traditional.
If you're ever in Chicago you must hit up Kuma's Corner. Its burger porn.
Kuma's Corner | Food | Harshing our melow since 2005
Lair of the Minotaur
Caramelized Onions, Pancetta, Brie, Bourbon Soaked Pears - $13
Everything there is a heavy metal theme. All your whiskeys and such are all ON TAP!
I must say that I was a little disappointed in this one. Maybe it had been hyped up a little too much to me. But even our friends who have been there many times said that the burger was slipping recently. Beer is second to none though. The Back Abbey
The Back Abbey ($13)
Aged Gouda, mustard aioli, caramelized onion, Niman Ranch bacon, & micro greens served on a Brioche bun
One's that I haven't had but are on my list......
The Apple Pan
I've been told that Father's Office is a little overrated.
Your turn, go w/ it!
My last 2 burgers at Back Abbey have been as great as in the past. However, that is only for The Back Abbey Burger, served medium rare. The Back Yard and The Seasonal are good but not in the same class.
I'm certainly not opposed to giving it another shot. I love the overall vibe though.

Smashburger at Overland and Venice in Culver City is very good.
Very good chicken versions as well. Tasty garlic fries.
They also have salads and shakes.
Well let me know if you are in the area, plus you might want to check out Eureka Burger down the street too.

The Apple Pan is a classic.
There's a little hole in the wall burger joint on Ventura Blvd. in Woodland Hills, a little east of Topanga Canyon, called Boulevard Burger. Nothing fancy, just good charbroiled burgers and great fries. Big portions and cheap.
I will let you know for sure. Damn, i forgot Eureka Burger. Although I can't remember what I had there. I remember it being pretty solid though.
