    I'd rather dig a hole, fill it with charcoal, and put a metal grill on top of it, cover it with a trash can lid.

    Webers seem to be rather expensive. $700 for a three burner without even a side burner? Sheesh. You could find a non-Weber grill with the same specs for half that price.

    But propane is quite a bit easier to cook with on a regular basis. I love food that is cooked on a charcoal grill, but the prep time is a pain in the ass.

    Completely agree. Our gas grill took a dump so we are using charcoal now and we love it, not sure if it's in our heads, but the food does have a better taste. Only downer is that you actually have to plan your bar B Q, which isn't always the case in our house.
