Guinness Launches New Foreign Extra Stout (FES) in the US - BeerAdvocate



the FES has already been available outside the US market for ages, but this release is for the states.

I have never heard of it, neither has my wench who loves Guinness. how about you? ever tried it?

I had it while I was in France a few years back, only had one and it was too long ago for me to remember the nuances of the taste...but I do remember that I liked it.

It's brewed with more malt too boost the alcohol and they add lactobaccillus to make it a little sour.

I am not a fan of the sours.

Regular Guinness does use a moss to sour it best this is supposed to be quite a bit more sour.

i saw it at the store the other day before i saw this thread... i had NO idea what it was, and though i considered buying some, i had NO idea what it was.

Never heard of it, but now must try!
