What? You don't need someone on tv to tell you that if you buy proteins and open cans and sauce packets and add them to the proteins you too can make some tasty food?

Her show is cooking for lazy people. The other day I was flipping through the channels and she was making strawberry shortcake using Grands biscuits, Cool Whip, and strawberries that she sliced and mixed in sugar to bring out the juices. Then she only put 2 halves of a strawberry on the shortcake and drizzled it with a ton of the juice. So not only is she lazy she's cheap with her portions.

Alton Brown reminds me so much of the website cookingforengineers.com its scary. I love his corny humor and his recipies. Guy is a little odd, but the food he makes/tries to eat but makes a mess is awesome. I think Giada is just freakin hot. She could crap on a Triscuit and I'd eat it. Duff Goldman is a huge hockey fan and is thinking of opening up a Charm City here in LA. Throwdown is cool because Flay usually gets beat.
Bourdain is pretty funny, I'll give him that. But I have yet to see him actually cook anything I'd want to eat.
The others in the afore mentioned list would destroy Bourdain in a cooking contest.

I prefer to call that one "Hacked". As in its a hacked up piece of ****! Its just a smaller version of Top Chef (which I watch as well).

NOW you're just talking crazy. Bourdain has been a chef longer than the people you mentioned have even been around. Just because they're on Food Network doesn't mean they're fantastic chefs. The people on Food Network, with exceptions I can count on one hand, are there because they're marketable, not because they're great chefs. Anyone in the industry, and I'm talking SERIOUS, world-renown, "in the know" chefs and industry heavyweights would very quickly disagree with your assumptions about Bourdain and his cooking abilities. The man is very respected in the industry, and he didn't get to where he is because he's "funny." He's been there, done it all, and that's the reason why he doesn't have to have a show where he's actually cooking. So you can't really diss his cooking skills just because you've never seen him cook on tv. FoodNetwork's chefs are there for entertainment value, not because they're leaders in the food industry.

That's a pretty misinformed statement daxx. I'd suggest you check out some of his books and then decide if you still think he'd be destroyed in a cooking contest. Check out Kitchen Confidential or The Nasty Bits or even his cookbook "Les Halles". He's world class all the way.

I ate at bourdain's old place, brasserie Les halles, last time I was in NYC. So good, I had to go twice before I came back from my stay there. He's not there anymore but the food is still cooked to his standards. (great service while not being too stuffy either; I wanted crêpes for dessert even though it was almost closing and the food stations were closed down but my waiter went back and made them for me anyway and they tasted great). I'd have bourdain or any of his disciples cook for me anyday.
