I have a buddy that claims the hop shortage is a load of BS, but I suppose that is debatable. No doubt though that the hop shortage (or so they say) increased prices drastically.
I still can't get over the fact that Lagunitas sells their Cappucino Stout at $3.99 / 22 oz ! That is one very well crafted stout. All of their beer is next to nothing in cost (and rightfully so) but they have a few that could be easily going for $6.99 / bomber that I would still be more than happy to pay for.
I am definitely not one to drink at bars, since there is just no point anymore when you have stores like Lone Hill Liquor around and online stores out of Oregon that blow the hell out of any specialty beer bar. Not to mention, the amount of money that you save is unparalleled.
Our mens group goes out to the Yardhouse every 4 months or so as a social gathering more or less. We always go to the Rancho Cucamonga location and the waitress service has always been great. However, my buddy always goes for the Rogue Dead Guy and they must have the taps mixed up, because twice now he has received some ESB or weak brown ale that definitely isn't Dead Guy - and both times the bartender has assured my friend that it was indeed Dead Guy that he poured!!! Several of us took sips of it and without a doubt it was definitely not the Dead Guy as we are very familiar with the stuff having binged on it all summer long. The bartender continued to claim my friend was wrong and that he was right, etc.... Kind of weak if you ask me. My buddy wasn't rude about it in any form, so in my opinion he has the right of way here and his drink should meet his satisfaction. It wasn't as if he started yelling names at the bartender.....
The food is decent, but a pube overpriced for what you get. For us its a once in a while thing so I don't mind. The draft selection isn't anything spectacular but is far beyond most bars out there. They have a decent happy hour too.
Chocolate stout ice cream floats bitches!!!!!!!!!11!!!1!
ooh, i don't normally like the chocolate stout, but in a float it's really good. and i find myself downing the stout afterward like nobody's business like i never would.
also, the original of a chain is always the best. the lb location was great minus the long wait when it got popular. i've been to the costa mesa location and it was alright... had much better service at the irvine rectum. service is always hit or miss and the food is always better at the original.

There's a new Yard House in Chino Hills about 1/2 a mile from my house. But I haven't eaten there, because I think the Yard House sucks.
