All places were kid friendly. I really value customer service. All of the places were customer service oriented, unusual these days.
Ruth's Chris, my kids are 19, 16, and 14 and they all love the expensive stuff!!! Sitting across from us was a cute family with a 2-3 yr old dressed in a suit! They were kid friendly too! In PS, i always wear a nice shirt, shorts, and flip flops!!
Just my 2 cents,
first off I am a creature of habit. I am one of the pickiest dudes in the world. So I have to have good food!!!
I generally Yelp when I go out of town. When I do yelp I dont Yelp a restaurant name, I Yelp what I want like pizza, burger, mexican food, bar. It just helps me find a place. Every place I have gone has had some negative reviews. I guess I was saying I love Yelp because I have been so lucky finding great bars and food when I have traveled. I ll even ask people when I am out where the best places to do. But, I do understand your points of view.
ah thanks bad! it's hard to know if a place is kid friendly and finding out ahead of time is really important to me. i remember going on a business trip up in sacramento with the hubby and didn't know where to eat. we ended up at a pub and had to ask if having a baby with us was ok. hahahahaha...
i actually don't use yelp because some people on there seem overly picky, but if i get enough recommendations from people who i know are relatively on the same page as me, i know it's more likely i'll enjoy it.
i don't eat out often so when i do, i'm pretty picky, too.
occasionally, i'll just use yelp to see check up on the places recommended to me by people i don't know as well. that's what steered me in the direction of that sushi place in tahoe. otherwise, it was kind of unhelpful to me when i first searched sushi and all i got were people raving about AYCE sushi. the concept of that alone grosses me out. oh well.
If you wanna be my yelpfriend, pm me!
Snapurna, request sent.
Ian, great reviews.
I love Bow Wow, Grannies and Big Mikes too!
Try the Chicken Parm at Big Mikes it's all I get now!
Yep. Most of the really bad reviews will usually be because of some "one off" service issue -- I usually screen those out because to me it is the food above all else. Still, Yelp is a useful tool if you have proper expectations. Also, if there aren't enough reviews I will cross check with Tripadvisor. Lastly, if I'm not looking for a specific restaurant -- just a category or area -- I find Chowhound to be indispensable.
