Downtown:
Morton's
Palm
Engine Company
Roy's
El Cholo
Do not try and go to LA Prime, Dress Code and they are bitchy.
For something a bit 'nicer' than Philipe's, you might give some consideration to TAIX French Restaurant. It is an old school classic French restaurant with a great wine list and top notch customer service.
1911 West Sunset Blvd. Just south of Alvardao

And its a short cab ride to the Stadium from Taix
the Red Lion, just north of the stadium, in SIlver Lake near the 2/5, if you're into German fares.

Damn dude- I came here to say this the other night! The only reason I held up is because I really do not consider the Red Lion to be much of a restaurant for kids, per the original request. Still, you have impeccable taste sir! I love the Lion. Get their sauerkraut and the three sausage platter FTW!
the patio at the Red Lion should be kool for kids, no?
German Pub, just north of the stadium?
Bauern Plate, here I come!!!
It's possible. The only thing about that place is the alcohol flows pretty heavy no matter where you are. Of course, it flows especially heavy when I am there... but that's another story altogether.
Speaking of German, or in this case Viennesse cuisine, check out where I will be dining next Thursday night
