I have two 9"x15" ceramic planters with bell peppers and squashes starting to peep out of the dirt. and a grill mesh that I salvaged off of a screen door that got blown off the hinges during last year's windstorm to cover and protect those planters. it's only a matter of time that I need to remove it so the veggies can grow, but when I do, I fear the damn squirrels will find the opportunity to rape those out.

My uncle camped out in the yard to get a opossum that was eating the cat food. This was before he found out that they are really clean animals and dont really carry disease. Ugly as hell though!

squirrels are just barely a step up from rats.

You people sound like my uncle. He calls squirrels "tree rats" and has a BB gun to shoot them.

Tomatoes coming in like gang busters.

Just finished canning 24 quarts of whole tomatoes. Later this week, the wifey starts canning puree, sauce, and diced Maters.


(oh, and we are having fried green Maters with smoked ribs and grilled yellow and green zucchini for supper tonight).

I have early girls, beefsteak, yellow pears (my fav), celebrity, romas, and cherrys. Striped squash and zucchini, but nothing from my artichoke plant yet

we have 4 on 2 of our 3 plants, about a week or so from picking. bunch more, but still thumb nail size.
