Hey Guys....so I'm a concierge at the new Resort at Pelican Hill in the Newport Coast and I am on the lookout for your favorite places in Orange County. I obviously have my favorites, but Im constantly on the lookout for new spots to try and recommend. My favorite place in the OC our Sapphire in Laguna Beach and Marche Moderne at the South Coast but I would love to hear what my fellow LGK'ers have to say.

How about the Crowbar and Kitchen in Corona Del Mar? It's a gastropub, which means it has a great wine list, a great variety of beers on tap, and gourmet food.
It's definitely not for everyone. It's kind of loud and is filled with mostly rich snooty people, but maybe it's just the place for people who play at Pelican Hill.
My 2 favorites are
The Winery Restaurant - Fine Dining in Tustin
Rothschild's Restaurant, Corona del Mar.
Chat Noir over by SCP.
French 75 in Laguna or the smaller one at Fascist Island.
Gulfstream's alright, right by Tommy Bahamas.
5 Crowns in CDM.
For a younger crowd, maybe Mosun in Laguna and Kantina on the Peninsula.

There's Bayside Restaurant near the entrance to Balboa Island. I've only been there for company parties - pricey, but good.
Oooh! Garlic Jo's!!! That place is GOOD. You'll stink for 3 days afterwards, but it's SO worth it. It's in the old Margaritaville place, across from Joe's Crab Shack.
Javier's in the Crystal Cove shopping center. Yummy.
The Quiet Woman for the cougar hunters out there.
The Royal Hawaiian or Blue Hawaiian or whatever that place is blows.
Newport, CDM, and Laguna are chock full of places to eat.
Disneyland.
if this is the same javier's they have at the spectrum, then i can back that one up in saying it is indeed yummy. i got the crab enchiladas. it was GOOD.Quote:

most of the places i go to in OC are hole in the wall joints so i don't really have anything special to recommend otherwise.
oh, there is a new area in irvine on jamboree and barranca called the district that has a few good restaurants that my friends and i meet up at for happy hours now. it's right before the tustin marketplace.
