Default So I tried falafel for the first time

At California Pita near City Hall. Liked it better than I expected. Any suggestions for other places for good falafel downtown or in the IE?

In Claremont, Saca's on 2nd Street is a must. Good food, and the owner is very nice. He treats everyone like they are his best friend.

Not downtown, but if you're ever near Universal City, try Joe's Falafel on Cahuenga across the street from the Nissan dealer.

Try the falafel sandwich on laffa bread. Best falafels and best bread EVER!!!!

Good start. Now go to a real Mediterranean joint and get the falafel as an app. Then have the lamb kefta (or kofta, depending on the founder of the establishment) with a nice cucumber salad. You will find that somehow your craving for rich comfort food will be satisfied, yet you don't feel like you ate a gut bomb.

    Speaking of gut bombs..

It's good. As is the banana shake. Especially after a Kings win (just don't wear the Kings gear, or else you'll get the "special").

I'm thinking if there was a place inside Staples with good falafel and babagannoush it'd be a gold mine.

Zankou has good falafal...if you can manage to order it over the chicken or tri tip.
