What kind of coffee do you drink? Espresso or drip?

If you like espresso, a Nespresso machine produces a far better cup than Keurig, ainec. Problem is that the pods are sold at very few places (several Bloomingdales) or you have to order online.

Keurig is good if you want the option to drink teas, hot chocolate, etc. If espresso is your thing, I'd avoid the Keurig.

I've heard excellent things about the Coffee Bean machines, but haven't had the opportunity to try it. Every time I go to CB they only have the mild capsules, not the Italian or French roasts

Have a Keurig machine at the office and drink the coffee as a last resort. The flavor is just... bleh. About what you'd expect for coffee that has been sitting around for who knows how long. I don't know about the basket for your own grind, never tried it.

I use a French press. It's WELL worth the time it takes, which is not much.

mmm... french press. i will never get one of those machines with a pod. i prefer the ritual of brewing it in regular drip or espresso machines or a french press depending on my mood. i used to work in a coffee shop while i was in college so that adds to what i like about it.
also i'm not sure about the disposable pods, but i like how biodegradable regular filters and grounds are.

As I mentioned, I have a Keurig. I also have an Espresso Machine, a French Press and a regular coffee pot. I use them according to what fits the day. With the Keurig, I have found some some pretty decent blends, and I have used the basket since I have a burr grinder. But for a quick cup or two, the Keurig is great. I don't think Phossy was asking what would provide him the best cup of coffee, rather he was asking for opinions on the Keurig. It was great to sleep in a few minutes longer this morning, brew a quick cup of Caribou Obsidian directly into my travel cup, and head to work. It is about convenience, while still getting a decent cup of coffee. It is not about brewing the best possible cup of coffee.

With all this coffee you drink, when the heck do you sleep?

I love mine. I think it would be perfect for what you need. There's nothing to wash! I will say though, mine is a bit temperamental. It usually works, but sometimes it just sits there and whines. Really annoying. Hasn't happened in a while though. I suspect my Keurig is related to the toaster oven I had years ago that would turn on by itself.

There is a wide variety of coffee flavors and types to buy, and you can always rinse out the cup and toss it in the recycle bin if you are worried about that kind of thing.
