That said- Korean BBQ and Japanese Yakiniku are easily my two favorite foods. If anyone wants some good recommendations for OC speak now as I really know what I am talking about in this area.

For Korean Food- Lighthouse BBQ in Garden Grove is very good. This is not a buffett hence the quality of the meat is very good as are the side dished. There are plenty of good buffets but will recommend Seoul Garden in Tustin. Have not been there in a while so not sure if it is still good but having taken several novices there none were ever dissapointed.

For Japanese Yakiniku- My two favorites are Gyu Kaku in Huntington and Tsuhurashi in Fountain Valley. Tsuhurashi is probably better but tends to always be packed and will run out of menu items. GyuKaku is way more user friendly as far as being americanized and has an awesome happy hour. I am going there tonight as a matter of fact to celebrate the wifes Bday.

We've got a couple excellent teppanyaki places near us, but I've not done Yakiniku yet. Wonder if there's any good places in the SFV?

Just got into Korean BBQ recently, having taken the family for the first time to a place down on Sherman Way. We were pretty impressed with it, but we didn't get too daring in terms of what we ate.

As far as KBBQ goes, Shik Do Rak at Reseda and Devonshire is pretty good. :hungry:

Maybe I stand corrected but in my neck I have always dseen it as Kalbi. But when it comes to Goreans they have all sorts of funny spellings...as a matter of fact theyve got a different word for everything.

I got into Korean BBQ after spending 2 years in Waegwan.
