Korean BBQ=Mongolian BBQ?! When did this happen?
Korean BBQ=Mongolian BBQ?! When did this happen?
One of my favorite lines is "Once you do Korean BBQ or Japanese Yakiniku-you will never go to a mongolian BBQ again."
I stand by my statement. For those of you in Huntington Beach- go to the Happy Hour at Gyu Kaku on Beach and Warner. Amazing stuff at a great price.
Korean BBQ is arguably my favorite of all Asian cuisine.
Please keep me up to date if there's any excellent ones in the Glendale/Burbank/Pasadena area.
Anyways, there's one place I highly recommend and it's not too far away from Staples Center.
Seoul Garden
It may be on the pricy side, depending what you order, and certain days you may need to pick a number for you seats, but it's very well worth it!!!
Reminds me of a client who wanted to know where his fortune cookie was after a meal at a Japanese restaurant...
And you may be wrong on the thread title - since he's looking for a place that is like a place called Genghis Khan, perhaps he's looking for Mongolian after all.
haha, ya i know.
i just read the thread title, saw "mongolian bbq" in the body of the post, thought "huh?", then saw king taco and ian's posts and just went from there instead. i guess he asked for eats in the pasadena/glendale/burbank area, too, and obviously k-town doesn't really hit the mark.
he mixes us asians up, i mix him up!
(but i saw even you agree soot bull jeep ain't bad.)
Oh, come on people. The place I mentioned in South Pas. (might have actually been in Alhambra) labeled itself as "Mongolian BBQ" but had all of the makings of Korean food. (I never associated kimchi with Mongolia. The frozen yogurt desert bar was suspect though.)
Thanks to you all for the suggestions. Was hoping to go to one last Friday, but drinking and "Uno" took over....hee hee. Have heard plenty of good things about Soot Bull Jeep and will put that on the top of my list.
Bon Apetit!
i'm just kidding around. i joke all the time about how we're all alike.
that scenario you describe is actually really plausible. it happens with korean owned sushi joints, too. some people think they're getting japanese food and then there's the makings of korean food there in addition to "sushi".
enjoy soot bull jeep whenever you get a chance to make the trip.
