Most Kosher meat isn't any "healthier" than anything else...the slaughter has just been approved by a Rabbi. Your also going to pay a boatload for this certification which wont be reflected in the taste of the food.
Just a thought from one member of the tribe whose fallen off the bandwagon....

Sorry Ruely, I could not find any out your way. The closest place I found, is the one Mcsorleyminute posted that is in Orange.

As I mentioned in a previous post, its not necessarily about being 'healthier' in eating. We've achieved that in other ways. (Organics, no sodas for the kids, lots of fruits and veggies as snacks instead of processed prepackaged crap, etc.) It's really about being disgusted by what happens at my local dairies and butcheries (where our meat comes from in this area) and their practices and feeling better about the method in which the proteins I am feeding my family is raised and slaughtered.

I dont have to explain to you the rules of kosher butcher since you know and fell off the wagon as you put it... but if Im going to eat meat, I would prefer it to be fresh and know that the animal wasnt abused just because its a cow and felt no pain in death.
Im a hippy, buy I like my steak so this seems to be the best solution... if I can ever find any!

Ok I see....I suppose there is something comforting in knowing that the last thing the cow saw before slaughter was some strange dude with weird sideburns and a beard.
