I have yet to find good poutine in CA. I was thinking of getting fries and gravy from the hat & cheese curds from trader joe's but I haven't gotten around to it.

When the Oilers and the Duckies were in the Western Conference Finals a few years back I served a couple of reporters when I worked at Kings Fish House. They were the most pompous assess I have ever met. They blasted everything that had to do with American food and drink. They yapped about how the weather sucks in SoCal (to which I laughed). They said I was retarted for being a Kings fan (they were right about that though). Basically they were French dooshes wrapped in a Maple Leaf.
Don't get me wrong. I'm a fan of Crown Royal, but it isn't the end-all-be-all when it comes to whiskey.
Labatts is meh, and Poutine sounds like a douche product or a vaginal cream.
Face it, whoever comes to SoCal is always doing so with a chip on their shoulder. Unless you come from Bora Bora, Cabo or some other tropical vacation destination, your place ain't $h!t compared to SoCal.
Attacking the whiskey on hand because its not from C-eh-N-eh-D-eh (spell it out... I know you will get the joke) is just lame.

now that sounds tasty. next time i'm in LA, i'll have to try it. seriously, don't waste your time on the one at redondo beach cafe. i'm sure they have better food. i'd been looking forward to trying it because it's the only place i'd heard of that had it here in socal and i was really disappointed. not only was it underwhelming, it just was not good at all. you'd think at least the fries might be good, but nope.
i agree. ithe riviera.
