And tonight, we all get to go to Job's place for ice cream!!![]()
The funny thing is that I was only looking for a new hi-temp oven/pan thermometer when the spirit came upon me.
Make Nutella gelato and I am THERE.
Cool but how much work is it to make your own? Never tried to make homer ice cream. Plus my 10 year old would be royally pissed if one day I said to her "Never mind Sweet Frog love. Daddy made some ice cream!"
Yeah, good question. I bought the more expensive one to make it easy:
1. This model has it's own compressor so there is no pre-freezing of components necessary.
2. The recipes that came with it are delicious.
3. It makes standard & custard-style ice creams, gelato, and sorbets.
4. Easy to clean.
I made Vanilla Bean custard style ice cream last night and it was tremendously good. Another tip: Cortina's on Brookhurst & Orange in Anaheim sells vanilla beans for .99 each which is a really great price.
You will be a even more of a hero to your 10yr old.
The wifey and I bought the ice cream maker attachment for our Kitchen Aid mixer, and it freakin rocks. Once you get the hang of the mix, you can make gym sock flavored ice cream and it will be great.
