Thread: Lucid Absinthe

My friends and I have been ordering bottles of Absinthe from a distributer in France since we got hooked on it's effects over a year ago. At 100+ dollars a pop, it's an expensive habit, but well worth the hit.

They have recently allowed it's sale in the US after years of prohibition.

This brand, Lucid was created by one of the more popular Absinthe makers...and was the first (I believe) to be released here in the states.

It is really good, comparitively...especially when done as ritual would suggest.
You can get it for about $70. (62% alc.)

Anyone else tried?

Just for kicks what makes the Absenthe buzz different then the Alcohol buzz?

For me...it almost seems like more of a high.
You get the traditional effects of alcohol, but it's light and kinda airy. I know that sounds weird, but it feels weird.
My buddy says it it feels like there was thc in it.
(I don't smoke weed, but I have)

No matter what, if you drink enough you're a mess, but one or two nice coctails and you're set.

I like it.

I like the effects of absinthe too, only problem is it kind of tastes like poo

What do you mix it with?

Only time I have been lifted by the cops was in Prague on the 80% stuff, i got picked up by the Czech police ringing a buzzer at a block of flats thinking it was my hotel. It is the lucid state that you find yourself in that makes it so euphoric.

You don't mix it. Youp our it over a sugar cube, then pour an equal amount of water over said sugar cube then stir it together.

SicSemper...Did you happen to drink it out of the bottle or something? It just tastes like Black Licorice

It tastes like a very, very earthy Black Licorice....almost like Pine Needles. I suppose if you utilize the sugar, the sweet can help negate this a bit....
